(e.g. CITRUS 8 is not a valid clue for LEMON and OCTOPUS.)
Also the number doesn't dictate how many guesses you get.
I thought we were limited to N+1 guesses?
Oh, I missed that checking through earlier, thanks.
In this case I think the number signifies how many clues relate to Fatso because BRick could have said 2 and we'd have had enough guesses to win. Unless Fatso only clued one word, which seems unlikely.

In any case, we're agreed on the first two words, so
point to CHOCOLATE
point to MASS

Is it just me, or was there something about the ugly stepsisters being too fat to fit into the GLASS slippers?

So, we have one word left, right? I think we need to go for it.
I think MASS was the 4th phishing word (very good word, BRick, by the way) and HOOK was the fairytale one.
SPRING could be from the Simpsons. Spriengfield is the town of Homer Simpson, and he's definetely a fatso. He's american, after all... Just kidding, but I really like my EAGLE guess. ( )
I think CELL would be better with just the word FAT, FATSO has a different ring to it. I think we need to look for a stretch meaning regarding this last word, because there's really no obvious one and I'm sure BRick knew our team would have only one turn left.
In conclusion, since I think BRick is more of the proud american type ( ), I would go for SPRING over EAGLE. The GLASS theory is also pretty interesting (the stepsisters actually cut their feet in the original fairy tale to fit the slippers, didn't they?); perhaps GLASS is about a GLASS of Coke, which a FATSO ought to like.
So, I guess I'd go with SPRING/GLASS > EAGLE, which means letting my team take the decision. Probably SPRING first, since I really like the Homer Simpson/Fatso connection.

Rings a bell. Not 100%.
Can we rule any out because there are better clues to go with MASS and CHOCOLATE?
To clue GLASS I'd perhaps say festive. Although that doesn't obviously lead to GLASS.
As Khan said Fat would work better for CELL.
LAP - belly could work.
EAGLE - can't think of anything...

Ichabod: I'm not 100% certain about GLASS, but the SPRING connection to 'Fatso' seems very tenuous. Ij addition GLASS fits in with 'Fairytale'.

I think the connection to SPRING is just one step too far. I do not particularly like GLASS either though to be honest. My problem is that I don't really like any of them. I think I prefer LAP, but I accept that the links to that are weak also.
You're more likely to sit in the LAP of a Fatso (Santa being something that quickly comes to mind when I hear the word LAP; this could just be because of the recent festive season). I acknowledge none of these seem strong but I vote for LAP. I'm going to work so won't be able to check this for awhile.

What do you guys think of MODEL? Something like Kinder would clue that and CHOCOLATE but not MASS, so BRick may have had to go ironic.
I'm particularly sleep deprived today so wouldn't entirely trust my judgment, but MODEL seems to have more of a link to Fatso than GLASS, if we're assuming HOOK was our final fairytale word.
Fake edit: Khan, I think Belly or Christmas would be a better fit for LAP than Fatso. Agree with you about not liking any of the choices though...

Sneaky work post...
I prefer MODEL to either GLASS or SPRING. I'm not sure Belly or Christmas would necessarily fit. Belly would not link us to LAP quite as much (both Fatso and LAP have ties to Santa for me). Christmas would possibly not get us to MASS, which we know was correct.
One of us may just need to bite the bullet and point on this one because I can't see us reaching a conclusion- they are all too flimsy. My preference order: LAP - MODEL - GLASS - SPRING
