Question: who will win from this war? Will you take and keep some land from haram?I aske becasue i dont know how exactly the geography is.

I won't be able to take any land, no, and I hope I don't lose any either. It seems he is pumping units nonstop right now, and I doubt I'll even have a chance at sniping some filler cities. I'm just trying to slow him down, because if he plays at his own pace he is unstoppable. For example, blockading his Moai city denies him 20 food, 40 hammers, and 60 commerce a turn; I believe astro will be a 5 turn tech for him, so that's worth the 600 upgrade cash right there. Of course, he's in Caste+Pacifism, so he might have done this anyways. lol

If I win anything, it might be a chance at denying the Economics merchant, if Haram goes full-out on Astro. He was able to 1-turn Guilds using overflow from Feudalism though, so I'm not sure. He might also be able to mass Caravels and chase the Merchant anyways.

I'm really, really hoping that either wetbandit, Dreylin, or TBS jumps in. This would be their one chance to make any gains on him before he becomes pretty much invulnerable... I don't think I'll be able to press him for more than 7 or 8 turns before I sue for peace, hopefully that's enough time for them to do something. Wetbandit can see that I have Galleons on him, although he's so checked out of civ that he was somehow able to lose PB28, where he had one of the biggest leads in any pitboss of all time. Dreylin, on the other hand, is full of confidence... maybe he'd feel up for siegeing the island section that Haram stole from him if I can prevent Haram's ability to deliver reinforcements?

hmmm my spider sense is tingling, as soon as I say that my goal is to force Haram to lose the Econ merchant he's back to 1-turning Banking, so the idea of cashing in my GM to race him is out. when i say im planning to raze the colossus/sankore city, haram jumps the turn order we'd had for like 100 turns, saves up gold (when he wouldn't need to for tech), sends out scouting boats, and beefs the garrison. when i give an ETA for lib, Haram races me towards it even though I took ridiculous pains (e.g. half completing a half-dozen techs, taking loans, NE failgold, mixing wealth vs research builds to make my actual BPT hard to figure, etc) to make my ETA in-game impossible to read.

i aint gonna directly accuse nobody of nothing but i think i need to stop spilling my head so much in this thread, sorry y'all. maybe i'm wrong but i'll feel better if i'm more paranoid.

Oh, here's another cool thing. I had mentioned before that I'm reluctant to invade Tsargon for meta-metagame reasons, that he's been depressed about civ lately after another game of his went from awesome to terrible. So, even though it wasn't the primary reason, one entry on the PROS side of my PROS vs CONS of going to war with Haram was to hope that Dreylin would jump in against Haram, a side effect of which would be to keep Tsargon alive for longer, maybe he starts having fun again. I thought he was caring more when he requested a loan and started whipping some more. However, today, Tsargon messages me on Steam, presumably from his cell phone, saying he forgot to post this in the PB29 tech thread, but that he just left for a weekend trip, but not to bother pausing for him. So, he's obviously done giving a fuck about this game. CHRIST. big egg on my face. Well, I'm not sure if that's what pushed me over the edge or not.

Obviously I will request a pause anyways, if he misses a turn any hope of Dreylin pouncing on Haram instead of him is gone. Also, he signed up for this game so he better goddamn play it out!!!!! rant

In other news, Scipio is down to 1 last city, but the bigger question, I think, is, why does he still have this city at all. What the fuck are Fennbandit doing? They don't even need to bombard, and cats can hit it from the fog.

Haram's power rise:

All of this is maces that would have otherwise have been beakers. Still pretty scary, though. I had a chance to raze a size 10 city of his this turn, but ended up deciding against it, because I think all it would accomplish is to piss him off. If Dreylin doesn't jump in soon I think I need to just get out of this mess, but of course, I have no way to fucking signal him about this, because of this game's stupid Diplo rules.

Our last loan repayment to Tsargon cancels next turn, so we'll be about 700bpt break-even. Our GA starts next turn too, I'll at least post a shot of that at some point.

Fenn just whipped off 15 Pop o_0. I wonder what the hell is going on there.

blah, Dreylin just played back-to-back turns so he's probably not jumping in anywhere any time soon. Fucking hell, I even made a point to sail a Galleon all the way down Dreylin's coast to show him I'd be able to support him navally. Sigh. Well, so it goes, there wasn't much to accomplish with this war once the Colossus/Moai/Sankore kamikaze plan failed.

Haram offered a peace treaty, which I rejected at first. Then, I noticed that he switched into Nationhood (!!!!!!!!!!!!), not Slavery, and his 4 pop score decrease indicates that he just drafted 4 maces, the ultimate death knell of any Civilization 4 civilization. I think that's worse damage to Sumeria by itself than me blockading his Colossus/Moai for another 5 turns. Anyways, I thought about it for a bit then offered it back at 110g, a guess at the price of what 1 turn of that city's income is. Yes, this war was probably a mistake and I'm accomplishing little for myself now, but you gotta pay me at least something, man, if you want your city back.

Mackoti just posts a lot in Haram's thread now, not in here, it seems I have lost a fan. frown Maybe I'll post an update later, and win him back.

ipecac, sorry but there wasn't a lot of action, at least on our end. Dreylin seems to have thrown some units away, maybe he'll have some blood for you.
