Commodore sent ne a note a week or so ago saying how happy he was to see you posting in my thread, so I'm sure there are many others happy to see you posting here as well.
Glad to hear it . Yeah, seeing you signed up for this sparked some interest in following along with a game for the first time in quite awhile.
Me too!

Barbs are on per player poll

If you're not comfortable with it I have no problems telling ppl to hold the start until Sunday.
Yep, not a problem.

FYI I fixed the wbsave to work for RtR. Leader name is wonky, but it doesn't matter.

I also took a stab at the PH plant, and as far as I can tell it's 2T slower at achieving the same thing than the sugar plant. Maybe 1T with a little optimizing. So we can probably rule that option out barring a scout surprise.

Thanks for the fixed save! I tried to fiddle around with the sugar plant to get the settler on t28. I can get it to 96/100 on that turn, but I can't quite get 100. Also nice to know I calculated the tech costs correct; it had been a while since I did that last
About to take off for the weekend. If for some reason I can't get internet (I'm like 95% sure I will have it) then I think the settle on southern sugar is the opening I'm leaning towards. It would take finding something bad in the fog to dissuade me, I think. But might as well scout first just to be sure. I guess what I'm saying is you have my permission to make the settler moves towards settling on sugar if you don't hear from me and the turn is due to roll before Sunday evening PST.

Ok, took a couple other shots/notes, but I wanted to get this up for Pindicator.
We talked briefly yesterday, and we decided settle on sugar is our default choice, so we decided to scout the plains hill instead. Here's that:
(I assume sugar was merely visible for starting screenshots decision making, and they're still there.)
I don't think this changes anything for us, but I'm going to hold for at least a few hours before moving the settler in case Pindicator gets internet and wants to overrule. That rice is NOT on fresh water, so it's not a 5F tile. That said, it is a 4F tile that we already have the tech for, so settling 2S and delaying Hunting is technically a valid option. At the very least, it's probably better than SIP. I can take a stab at it in a few and see if it's worth pursuing, but I'm like 75% sure it won't be compared to sugar plant. If it's close, I'll hold longer so Pindicator can decide.
Some tile bleeding:
Going clockwise, looks like grass forest, plains/desert hill, flat desert.
So... settler 1W?
Also:
1) 1871 land tiles - 234 apiece. Relatively roomy but not massive.
2) Opponent leaders/civs to follow later.
3) No clue whatsoever on map script - I'm rusty. Custom Continents?

The leader/civ picks:
Roster Wrote:Us: Charlemagne (pro/imp) America
TBS: Genghis(agg/imp) Zulu
Mackoti: Willem (fin/cre) Viking
Old Harry: Sury (exp/cre) Sumeria
Commodore: Catherine (cre/imp) Portugal
OT4E: Sitting Bull (phi/pro) Inca
2MN: Boudica (agg/chm) India
REM: Peter (exp/phi) HRE
The settings:
OT4E ended turn without settling. Old Harry, The Black Sword, and Mackoti all logged in and didn't end turn. We already knew our full capital BFC before starting even though a couple tiles of it were unnaturally visible, so I'm assuming that's the same for everyone, meaning they all already considered SIP. All 4 have at least thus far declined to SIP, and we're the 5th to do the same. I'm guessing then this means all of these guys are contemplating moving based on scouting info, which is unusual for a game around here. I'll hazard a guess then that starting BFCs are underwhelming in general like ours, hence the lack of enthusiasm to SIP.

I'll take a stab at settling south later tonight.
