K you are the host.

A substantial amount of discussion in these games has been over what words mean, and looking up meanings has been explicitly forbidden in other threads. Saying "well it's not forbidden in THIS thread" is very shady imho.

It kinda depends on what the game designer planned the game to be about. I was under the impression that it was more about trying to figure out connections between things and trying to read the mind of your spymaster, rather than being about how big your vocabulary and trivia knowledge is.

It could be argued that Google is the great equalizer between people's perceptions. I mean, at the point you are unwillingly using trivial knowledge as a hint, you're crappy spymaster. For example I'd assume "pyramid of cards" is something everyone know, but apparently not...

I'll agree to hold off on talking more about the Google issue until post-round or post-game, but I don't find appeals to the host's authority or to what sort of game this is supposed to be as compelling reasons for ignoring in-place rules without advance discussion.

In the very first Codename game it was established that google was banned and that all subsequent games were using the same ruleset. I assume you didn't see that. It's okay, don't worry about it, let's move on.

Bell > Cricket > vacuum
are my loud clues in order.

I guess tap, after cricket and possibly/probably after vacuum.

London is off the grid, that was a possible fail on loud clue.

Also the googling had no effect on current game so no prob moving on.
I have a great idea for a google-clue based codenames forum game, but am a bit under the influence so probably stupid idea.

Agreed with Cricket, too. And I guess I could see vacuum, although I admit my first reaction was 'there is no sound in space' bang
