I guess you have the Russian Orthodox Church, many of which are in Moscow.

Not really inclined to make more guesses than that, given our current advantage on the board.

CHURCH and MOSCOW stand out. Not sure about 3rd... I guess STATE could be connected to that, such as being 'state church'. I'm pretty sure in Russia they have no state church because state and church have been separated (IIRC), but that could possibly still fit the clue (not in Russia though). Also in their masses they use incenses which are like smoking sticks = TORCH - this feels like a very big stretch though, and I'd not go here with the lead we have at the moment.

I'm leaning towards CHURCH + MOSCOW + PASS. No need to risk at the moment when we can play safe with the lead.

I would actually be fine with State as the third; Eastern Orthodoxy in the Byzantine Empire was the state.

I guess we're waiting on Dave, but for the sake of our opponents we shouldn't wait too long as we already have majority agreeing with church/moscow.
