Running:
Same candidates as for Clothe, unfortunately. TAG, LAP and HORSESHOE are all possible. Also SMUGGLER and TIME, and reading Commodore's suggestions, TORCH.

I guess it makes sense to guess from the Clothe candidates, so my suggestion is HORSESHOE and LAP, in that order. Or maybe TAG instead of LAP.

1. LAP seems pretty obvious.
2. Runners are frequently obsessed with their TIME.
3. The Olympic TORCH is relayed by runners from Athens to the site of the games.
4. The game of TAG involves a lot of running.
5. Turning the KEY starts your car running.

Oops, I thought I had responded but apparently never did...

To me three that suit best are TAG, LAP and TIME. I think pfrase "time is running" exist in english too. But TAG/LAP could also be the answers for the previous clue (clothe), so I think ipecac wants us to go back to those. HORSESHOE is another possibility for clothe and running, but I don't like it as much. Time suits for this clue but I don't think it suits for any previous clues like TAG/LAP does. For this clue, I really don't like TORCH/KEY. We're missing one ortodoxy word still... what could that be? I don't see any of the running words overlapping with them. I'm pretty sure that word has to be STATE.

So I'd probably go LAP -> TAG.
