[Spoilers] It's time to be casual again

I didn't expect us to get a subforum so quickly.

Small note : my exams are getting nearer. When I actually get to them I'll have less time available for civ, so if the PB27 turns become more complicated and we're approaching June I might need Mardoc to play some turns.

Happy to. I'm not quite sure where I'll fall on the partner/dedlurker spectrum due to time, but I'm aiming high.

Of course that'll be easier if my morale is high; we should avoid doing something boneheaded like getting knocked out of contention by a Vulture rush wink

Will probably log in to look around and help optimize even when you're doing the actual playing.

Any thoughts on civ/leader choice? And/or naming scheme?

That's great !

Civ/leader will depend on the pick method.
I found a good naming theme a couple of weeks ago but forgot what it was. I'll remember eventually

I suggest having the Zulu as your closest neighbour. That way you can get knocked out of contention by an Impi rush instead. nodnod

Haha I still feel bad that in the one game where Jowy didn't Jowy me despite us being super close to each other that would have easily won the game for him!

Good luck. I also agree PB27 is getting very time consuming, and it isn't even industrial yet :/

I spent almost half an hour on the turn today, and it wasn't even an important one. Those that got eliminated are the smart ones I say.

I know, it is taking me at least 20-30mins to look at cities and do worker stuff before thinking strategically...

We have at least a 1/6 chance of repeating that, assuming 2 neighbors minimum mischief. Plus, well, quite a few of this crowd can be violent sorts of people:

Dreylin & Aurorarcher: If there's profit. Fortunately I think they can be deterred by good play. Unfortunately, I don't know if I'm capable of said play wink.
Jowy: well, duh
Ichabod & Bobchillingworth: Actually not especially violent, although I expect they will try to conquer someone at some point
AutomatedTeller: Seems likely to be violent. PB27 indicates as much, although I can't go into details while you're still alive
Molach: Seems deterrable by visible defenses. Not sure about deterrence by inferred defenses
Mr. Cairo: First game, don't know.
Gawdzak: I feel I should know him, but I don't.
BRickAstley & Pirate Blood God: BRick isn't terribly violent. But he won't be in charge after T50, either, going by historical evidence. Xenu...I think Xenu can be deterred by his fear of kingmaking, of all things. If we don't piss him off and he has better targets, and we're in the top 2, we can have peace.
Boldly Going Nowhere: Violent but only if profitable
NylesStandish: Don't have a great feel for him but I think he's pretty violent
yuris125: Ah, finally someone who is peaceful at heart. Probably can be provoked, though.

Ichabod doesn't seem like he would attack someone randomly. I could go on longer but I'd go into PB27 spoiler territory.
AT : you don't need to get into details, I know some of the details and that's enough to get the big picture.
Gawdzak is an economist at heart. See PB22 where he was on his own island and, while bored, did really really well.
BGN showed in PB18 that he can win wars, but I doubt he's the kind of guy to attack before knights.

Basically I doubt anyone other than Jowy or AT is known for attacking before knights, and well if you're late to knights you can't complain about being conquered. You can only hope that you're not the target of the incoming knight rush.
