[PB29 Spoiler] In which Joey, then mackoti, swing happy go lucky

Yeah. I mean, that's how it's supposed to be done. Overheating can actually "kill" some important parts of the milk.

Yeah, I have a fancy bottle warmer for that. (aside: Originally, I had actually calculated out a table for the number of Y cups of boiling water from a tea kettle to add to X cups of room-temperature water to bring a bottle up, of various sizes, to the correct temperature after 20 minutes without scalding it, but then my wife got me the Kinde Kozii for Christmas. It's very nice, much faster and convenient, although I think she mostly bought it out of fear that she'd ever have to use my tables herself. lol Google Docs: good for ruining more than just Civ4!)

But, yeah I usually feed the little guy about once a day or so with a bottle, in the middle of the night so that my wife can sleep more. However, I can only do that if she pumps twice a day, morning as well as night, because she always freezes the first batch she pumps. Baby's gonna start day care in like 2 weeks, for which he'll need a supply of milk. Even though she'll be pumping while she's at work, she wants a big buffer of milk just in case something goes wrong, I don't know. The whole Elixer metaphor - "what if we need it." So, we have a freezer chock full of frozen milk, 3 or 4 dozen bags by now, and she refuses to let me heat it even in emergencies. frown And, of course, what can I say? Can't argue with her; just do the best I can. So, it can be hard.

edit: i feed him once a day, not once a month! lol sorry, really out of it today.

I sent Haram the peace treaty offer the other day via PM, explaining that I was unable to do so in game (he has hammer economy so he runs gold essentially never, and you can't ask for more gpt in a treaty than a player's slider currently shows), and he complained about how I was over the line for this, since this was a mechanical limit of the game. Ok, sure. However, now he's trying to talk down my anger via PM (not in response to anything, by the way) as if this were a full diplo game. Rolling my goddamn eyes.

He also complained when I logged in outside of my half of the timer, on the night he invaded, when I panicked when I saw the tracker and logged in to see what the hell was going on. He asked me to stick to my part of the timer. Ok, sure. However, now he's logging in after Tsargon to see if any of my troops move when Tsargon accepted a cease fire, which he says is OK because he thinks they're "war allies" or something. The actual reality is that Tsargon, I'll bet dollars to donuts, probably totally hates Haram's guts right now, because instead of having a quick, honorable death, so he can wash his hands of civ4 pitboss forever, he is dragged into another forever-defense, where he role-plays a piece of raw meat being eternally gnawed upon by a pack of wolves. Just like he still has to suffer through in PB27. RIP.

In actual game news, no peace treaty from Haram this turn, so revenge is his motivation. I suppose this makes the most logical sense anyways, given his actions. If he simply wanted reparations, he would have demanded that right away. And, he certainly can't have expected a clean exit after razing a city. Before this war started, I would have said that Haram had about a 55% chance to win, I had a 25% chance, and TBS had a 20% chance. Now, if I were to, say, give a white peace this turn, it'd something like 50% Haram, 45% TBS, 5% Me, as now I will also need to fight TBS tooth and nail to get any land out of Tsargon, and Tsargon himself will be slower to conquer too, given that he'll have more time to reinforce our border and whip down units. TBS gains on both of us, because the longer he gets to go without any pressure, the better able he'll be to solidify his current holdings, take more, and catch back up in tech. That is to say, my chances have gone to almost nothing, while Haram has not hurt himself much at all... yet. So, there is no logical reason I would give him a peace treaty. Thus, the only expectation he has is to hurt me. Why? The most likely thing I can think of is that he wants out of this game due to RL time constraints, the same ones that led him to asking for a sub to begin with. He hurts me, gets me to concede, then he concedes, and that's it. Game over, TBS victory.

Doesn't stockpile wealth? Engages in ill-conceived diplomacy his enemies? Dismissive of reparations? Clearly Haram is the Bernie Sanders of pitboss.

lol...

also, this turn order shit is ridiculous. i am really not being a pedant here just to be obnoxious. first, i just noticed tsargon just jumped order, which is annoying, because we only had a cease fire, not a treaty. I was strongly considering wardeccing him again this turn in order to protect some galleons I had on Haram's underside (i.e. to unload their rifles in the newly conquered city so Haram couldnt hunt them down), but that woulda made me feel skeezy with the turn-order jump. Then there's the problem of what were to happen if I were to get another cease fire - my units would teleport out of Tsargon's borders. this matters because I believe Haram had a pair of Nav1 frigates that would have been 1 tile short of attack range to hit a galley+galleon that teleported out of Tsargon's borders this past turn. that is way too close for comfort. then there's TBS - he has a huge horse stack just outside the range of this same city, and Haram can see that because of his culture. thus, Haram could change the way he moves against me based on how TBS moves.

fuck playing around that if they're all playing on both sides of each other.

ok, for the lurkers: my aforementioned ships loaded with rifles were teleported to the tile 3W of chinook last turn, 2W1S of Haram's highlighted ship stack. did Haram move his ships to that spot before Tsargon played? or after, when he saw the teleport? how would I be able to know?

similar deal with TBS, now that I have ships around his borders too. he has to stick to the turn order, this map is far too interlinked for anything else.

this fucking guy, he fucking gets his petty little revenge and now he quits the game so he doesn't have to deal with the consequences. he acts he's been a martyr just for playing his turns, well why did you close your replacement thread the first time! the timer has never lasted longer than 24 hours since this war has started, neither tsargon or I have ever held up the game outside of his window.

fuck you, Haram !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! fuck you, asshole !!!!!!! you piece of shit!

oh good, we have mackoti posting in the lurker thread, im sure wagging his finger at me and saying how horrible my game was and how he'd have built ten thousand knights out of 100 hammers per turn and conquered half the map via galleys. christ.

You know why I sent you this, Joey? Cause I believed that we have positive, full of respect off-game relations and I was hoping to maintain it, despite fighting in-game. You’ve just shown me how naive I was.

No bad intentions from my side in terms of turn order, just used to be playing with a different approach in such situation. We can fight to death in game, but don't hold a grudge in RL smile

Fuck off with this. You were the one who insisted that I stick to part of the turn, so I insist that you do the same. That means not logging in after Tsargon or TBS, because what they do can also affect stuff between me and you. For example, how do I know whether you moved your ships near Chinook before Tsargon played, or after? I can't.

And that last part is definitely over the line in even an AI-diplo game, but since its there, I'll answer it. The next time you want to throw your game away because you don't have time for it or whatever, how about you actually find a sub, instead of pissing in my cheerios too just for the hell of it with this zero-sum revenge bullshit.

You misinterpret everything, Joey. I'm not giving any spoilery information about my in-game intentions, just trying to show the borderline between the game and the real life.

Ok, let's just play, cause I'm not finding a joy in a PM feud smile
