There is the part about the Holy Grail.

A paladin is associated with the church/religion, rides a horse and slays dragons.
To my mind stating Rome because it is associated with religion and the church is like saying hand because a paladin is a person and has a hand.
Granted, it's 2 moves away but I consider Paladin instead of Knight to point more strongly towards religion (though I'd be more comfortable with 'Crusader' in that case).

We're all fine with CHURCH, though Q preferred as the others ROME and one of HORSE/DRAGON. I'm okay with pointing to DRAGON if you guys all agree on it (D&D style fantasy is not my thing).
Well we can point to church then? I'm not a big DD fan but Knights in all folklore and fantasies slay dragons, albeit they are not often referred to as Paladins. I am getting that connection to be from a paladin being a religious knight. My order would have been horse/church/dragon personally.
True there is the holy grail stuff but that again is a few moves away from linking to Rome.
I can't see any things that would be excluded by going paladin over knight.
Other thought that just came to me - never was a zelda player but link from the zelda games could probably be called a knight, however a stretch to call him a paladin, unless someone who has played a few knows differently?

As I said, I like Horse, Dragon and Church, I feel like Paladin is more related to Church because they have religious connotations but, through D&D are not too regarded as christian. And Link is in no way, shape, or form anything like a knight.

point to CHURCH
And yeah, LINK isn't in anyway related to Paladin.

I'd rather point to Dragon than Horse.

I relate Rome to religion in the Medieval era more strongly than it seems most do here, with the two inextricable. I don't know the exact definition of Paladin, but I was under the impression it was a term very closely related to the Catholic religion during this period.

I relate Rome to religion, but because it is 2 moves from paladin I think it unlikely to be in the three things. I have never heard a paladin be explicitly related to Catholicism though.
Why do you feel it is not horse?
DC and I want horse/dragon. (and DV too!)
QG wants dragon/Rome. Ipecac wanted Rome and one of dragon/horse it seems.
Shall we point dragon as we are more or less all decided on that?

Because I don't associate them in my mind? Maybe because the model in FFH is dismounted, and their horses are brought up infrequently in tOOtS.
