Scooter in chat Wrote:*similar opinion but broken up and too wordy*
So since a few of you have mentioned an initial wider visible area. Since you have 3 settlers to try and dotmap, and an extra vision bonus seems to fit thematically and mechanically with a late start, I think that's a reasonable option to bring up for a vote.
So instead of your starting BFC or starting 5x5 being unfogged, I'm proposing that I'll unfog a starting square of 9x9 around your starting tile. This gives you a good big of detail about your surroundings and should allow you to start planning, but also leaves some mystery about what's a bit beyond that as well.
Please vote (one vote per team) in the poll I'm about to make in this thread, if you want an expanded 9x9 view or the standard 5x5 view, majority opinion will be carried out.

If Donovan Zoi could use someone to handle things until Mid-April though...

I wouldn't properly be able to let go. I'll just choose one of the dudes I know and dedlurk.
I've got some dirt on my shoulder, can you brush it off for me?

I can use an in-thread antagonist, as well as someone to provide some pregame player analysis and suitable disgust when required.

I still want some ded-lurker, but I'm not that picky (just don't be completely negative).
No real preference on the starting area reveal, though I would worry about if the map was unbalanced towards that (say, one team has a lot more water, or it somehow reveals an island or something).

I'm only offering it because I've taken a look at the map first, and I do not think it will be unbalanced.

Looks like we have a majority for the 9x9, but I'd like to hear from Pindicator and DZ just to make sure there's no huge objections to hear before I rubber stamp it.

9x9 is cool with me. I can also dedlurk or team up with CH if Gaspar really wants to play. Especially after all of the effort that went into convincing him to join us.
Time is not really that much of a constraint in the early game, so no worries there if we keep the status quo.
Your move, Gaspar. OhMyDog

I voted 9x9 because my scouts always die to the first barbarian they see.
