I go Hook -> Shot -> Hand -> Link. All words relate to the overall actual of harpooning something, but I think a 'hook you shoot' gets at the essence of what a harpoon is.

A harpoon has a barb, not a hook, though. I really don't understand the enthusiasm for hook; I thought the hook connection to Bouncer was a pretty strained one, too.

Dave, do you think Hand and Shot would likely lead to Harpoon? Pistol to me seems tremendously more likely there versus Harpoon. Harpoon is a pretty specific niche term. Absent Whale I feel like there needs to be something harpoon-specific going on.
