So I've played 4turns so far. Some minor good news:


And some more valuable good news:


Far Southeastern city; Acolyte is on the way to the old Capital.

But here's the bad news:


Yeah, for some reason Decius has researched Astronomy on this map, but the point is that DECIUS HAS RESEARCHED ASTROMONY and we don't have Hunting or HBR. Oh, and we'll probably lose a whole lot of diplo modifier with all our FoL friends as soon as we revolt to AV.

Now I don't mind fighting a losing hand in MP, but are we over the tipping point here?

Woof. As ever, a lot depends on the idiocy of the AI. If we can manage to tech Priesthood and build Ritualists everywhere we're a decent ways to relative safety; if we can then make our way to Sorcery we're probably set for tech, between Ritualists, Diseased Corpses, T2 crap, summons and various buffs. But it's def. going to be a long, hard slog, so if the game stops being fun and starts being a chore I'm happy to table it, maybe see if some of us can reach a winning position in SP on our own time.

Interestingly, the recent changes to the Elohim make them a scary AI opponent, because they never stop to heal.


I wouldn't revolt until we get PH.

Well I'll finish my set tonight and see how things go.

Agreed no revolt before PH; I'm trying to get good odds on a Prophet for the next GP, but I doubt it'll be over 50%. Merchant is on the way to Decius's land with a slow escort.

Can Great People be Hasted? Given workers, I'd doubt it.

Right now they're moving at the pace of the escort - which since I only have one Adept there is currently 1-move only. But I'll get a second Adept to catch up and Haste the escort.

Well I didn't quite get through the full set...

The Dwarves will take Peace for a city:


But we might have enough numbers on site to kill off this stack (including Arthendain). Decius & Basium haven't pushed forward seriously yet, so maybe if we cast Sanctuary they'll will agree to Peace before it runs out.

In other news:


I started moving Loki down this way, but that was only a turn before Decius' declaration came.

Also I was a single turn from popping the GM in his city for fat stacks of cash...
