REM goes on the Sudric Express [Pitboss 33 spoilers]

Now I'm really upset that no one is playing Fred for the corps... I could still go that way with being org, but with toro mait I think it would be a poor choice. I got my top choice, and would have had my second choice by the look of it if I had lost the RNG roll.

Well I should probably plan a start now I know I don't have spi. I get 4 swaps... I think it should be to beuro/rep/merc/serfdom. Not 100% sure on this. FR is powerful and a free 10% more tech. Also there is the question of whether I should go slavery.

I think currently of laying down some serfdom improvements quickly, then flitting back to slavery + FR. Also burning 2 turns of anarchy at the start could easily be done as I doubt I will lay down city 2 before the anarchy would wear out.

Surprised that I have the only Imp civ, lets see if I can make it work. Growing to size 6 and whipping settlers (possibly 8) is probably the way to go here. I think I can grow on slowbuilding workboats and rifles. Workers at 48h a piece I should try and spam early, but put most of my chops into settlers. Building science could be useful here as certainly at the start with the free markets the slider will be more economical low rather than high.

Push for Communism, probably will try and get a GS to bulb SciMeth and then go golden or just swap to the endgame civic type choices of rep (PS when I have it)/vasslage/CS/SP/FR most likely for a hammer economy/land grab. After communism, I think going for steam power and assembly line will keep me up with both defence and production. I don't think steel would be that useful, and physics/bio just won't give enough returns.

To the sims!

As I wake up, I have a buyers remorse type scenario. I wish I had picked Genghis now :'( I want the hammer ease!

So... In work so unable to post pictures or type too much, but that took a long time. Probably should have summed a bit more earlier. Org at 3 cities isn't helping at all - definitely would have been better off with agg seals and malls over org and shales. Still being the only imp I *hope* to romp this game.

I tried really really hard to make serfdom work as I really want it to be worthwhile in a competitive bts game, but slavery is just so powerful. Especially with the high early happy and needing so little food in the box to grow each size compared to ancstart. I assume probably everything is modified by 80%. Still lets press on!

So what did I do? Revolted into rep/beuro/Slav/merc. FR is nice with a 10% research bonus, but that won't effect research builds and I will probably hold on coin to begin with. The bonus engineers are really nice at the start with the free science boost and extra 3 happy. Beuro is a no brainer, and slavery is just so flexible. Besides its the 18th century, there's still over a hundred years before the emancipation proclamation!

So where to settle? I see a couple of guys decided not for SIP but with my land I couldn't see much better. To be honest I didn't sim that out, I just felt it was right. I then decided early that another settled should go SE. The site 3SE of the cap is great, can be settled the 2nd turn and can whip a worker after 1 turn of building it due to the forest iron (plus on settling there I revealed a grass sheep in the BFC and no missed seafood!). I mostly simmer out settling with the iron/sheep/wheat site in my sims but unsure to take it currently. The land is very open up there and I will think more about that. However with this set up I was able to get my first settled out eot14 (with 7 workers), and 3 more by t20. Cover to defend them is lacking a bit, but I just cannot see people going tooth and nail to attack early plus we are 160 tiles each so I doubt we will get much early contact. I am quite chilled with settling cities with limited worker support here because shipping them out first is really easy, and I think a resource grab is better here is better than too much overlap.

I will initially try and get a couple of rifles out for the new cities, but I also want a few caravels. Whilst meeting people is somewhat redundant in merc, I would like to map them out and attempt circumnavigation.

Buildings can wait.

Pics and details of plan to follow.

I feel if I can settle out this quickly I could boost the Eco very fast - it's not like I'll need to grow to currency, some easy wealth building will keep me afloat!

Ok so here is the view currently. I would really like a naming theme here, I've just decided on one and I wonder if anyone can guess it. Cap will be renamed Thomas and second city Edward. Henry will be settled next turn unless the explorer throws up something interesting.

Settled cap and 3S3E. Worker is farming the FP and workers started in both cities. I will put henry in place unless I see something else. This quickly gets me 3 nice resources, auto irrigates the wheat and gives me health that is at a premium in the IA when factories and power is up! I am mildly sad about loosing a forest for it though. No culture builds until I see where the religion goes down. It will most likely go to the largest city, so probably after whips that will be my henry.

In general also I am attempting to run a no cottage play. Realistically using SP/caste workshops will be far better, and this is probably only 40ish turns away. My timings are all screwy on this setup.

Haha although he is the second character he is technically number 6! Was unsure how much Thomas had travelled tbf, I thought it might be a very British thing.

Dotmapping this is quite hard because I don't want to go too tight with the high settler costs and speed with which cities grow... I'm gonna try for much less overlap than usual. Lets see how that goes!

After Thomas and Edward, it's Henry, Gordon, James, Percy, Toby, Duck, Donald, Douglas, Oliver. That's it for the numbered set.

True. Emily has taken over now being used a lot. I recently went to Thomas land with the little one. It wasn't bad but quite expensive for what it was really.

So I guess I am on the isle of Sodor. What would the adjective be? Sodorian? Sodorish? Sodorite tongue
