There were 4 items in your list. Here they are in random order:

You have 10 points
7: FIN, EXP
6: India
5: Inca, CRE
4: IMP, ORG, HRE
3: SPI, IND, Zulu, Sumeria
2: CHA, AGG, PHI, Ottomans/Maya/Byzantium (with War ellie ban)
1: Civs that start with Agriculture Tech unless otherwise stated, Greece/Rome
0: America, Native America, Civs without agri not already stated
-1: PRO arabia, germany, celts
Please post picks in threads, unless major objections I feel that duplicates should be allowed within reason, because quite a few civs have specific point costs to try to open up the field from the usual suspects.
Map taster info - fully hand crafted. SMALL 40x40 (based off small doughnut script if you wish to generate a map that size) VERY rich in resources. Stone/Marble are present but not easily reached early. Highly balanced but not mirrored/duplicated. FLAT map. IMMORTAL difficulty (it is very rich!) Moderate amount of water, but you could easily get away without a navy. GLH NOT banned. Scout starts for all.
As per your choices, no barbs, quick speed
Unusual tiles note - to spice up naval encounters, there are a few jungle/forest tiles hidden in the seas - these will give a defense bonus. Think of them as rich but dangerous to attack into lagoons, or places on the high sea that are rather dangerous.
You're player 0!
Here's your start - fogazing should be treated with caution, but the map is unlikely to change tbh.
Have fun and good luck!

Huayna of Mali is pretty good, I'll probably go with that if I go with fin. Needs some testing though

Ok so first, thanks for all the hard work you put into the map.
Second, wow this start is strong. +11 food at size 4. That means the imp and exp bonuses to hammers are worth less.
I'll get into more details about all this later

It'll be fun to explore as it isn't mirrored and yet no one should be struggling with a tundra snowball a la pb21...

Stream of consciousness post.
After a quick test this start is about as crazy as it looks. I think fin/ind is the way to go, and Mali is the best civ for that. I'll regret it when it turns out someone else went for ind but whatever.
Mali is probably the best 0 point civ for a non water heavy map.
Maintenance costs will be huge I guess (actually I made a test, at 7 size 1 cities expanses are 35gpt, 25 in maintenance and 10 in civics), but I'll try to offset that with fin commerce. Darius of Germany is tempting, but I feel better when my civ offers me more than its starting techs.
I think the kind of food shown in the capital's 5x5 is going to be the norm on this map, else exp would be overrated. But here quick granaries will rule as much as fin commerce.
I think imp is overrated on this map, because we'll end up building settlers with food anyway.
Either the map is happy-poor or cha and maya are overrated.
Phi feels underrated in this point system because more food means more specialists means more use of phi. But I'm less sure about that one.
Conclusion : I'm choosing Huayna of Mali. Other combos like Darius of Germany, Zara of Greece or Roosevelt of Sumeria aren't bad but fin is probably fine at 7 points and it's been a while since I've played fin BTS with an acceptable civ.

I opened the save, and looked at the other's choices.
GE : Cre/Imp of Babylon. Catherine isn't a bad leader, but as I said I think imp isn't going to be that huge here. Babylon is a meh pick, but I just realized that immortal means less health so maybe the gardens will actually be in use.
ElGrillo : Spi/Org of Zulu. Not a bad choice either, more late game traits compared to others. It depends on how he'll use Spi and his Zulu bonuses.
Here I was relatively happy, they didn't seem like power combos.
And then : Khan, Exp/Ind of Mali. Well I know who in this game thinks like I do. Double Ind is really annoying, and he'll get the early Exp boost.
Also, 822 land tiles for just over 200 per player. Impi rush is going to be less problematic I guess.

I'm glad the game has a nice spread of leaders. I think that it will be quite open, and you should get what I was doing with the civ scoring once you see more of the map.

I'm still wondering why Exp and Imp are so high. Exp's 25% on workers isn't going to be great here I feel, the 2 health are good for this difficulty level but not critical, the double granaries is probably going to be amazing and I doubt harbors will be too important. Overall 7 points sounds like a lot for that.
Anyway I'm going to have fun unraveling what you've done with the map. You say you handcrafted it entirely ? That sounds like a long process.
