Star Wars: The Force Awakens

I had forgotten about this whole Rogue One spinoff stuff (hadn't really followed what was happening with them), so I was very confused watching this trailer until it clicked what I was watching about 2/3 of the way through. Disney is not messing around with cranking these out.

Disney own Star wars, Marvel, their own princesses/princes... That's eye watering profitability!
Holy shit. See, right away I noticed the fight @1:14, even tho it was only 2 moves and lasted less than a second, has STYLE. Made me switch watching the teaser to full screen and recognized Donnie Yen (previously unknown to me). Now we are talking, I guess I will watch it on the big screen. Donnie Yen alone must be worth like billion dollars in the box office.

I suspect it'll have about as much long-term pop culture impact as the last one.
When's the last time you heard anyone quote a line from TFA? Reference a scene? At least the execrable prequels had dorky terrible-lines worth chuckling over. "I love the water..." "I HATE SAND."

ugh I'm 30 minutes in and I'm already so annoyed that I have to vent here.
freaking miss scavenger lives by selling scraps for small amounts of food, finds an intact droid and TRIES TO SEND IT AWAY ON ITS MERRY WAY??? and black ranger has been a soldier all his life, doesn't even have a name, of course mere minutes into his new life he already acts like a normal person and not a soldier who's been raised to kill and obey since his birth. |
