[Spoilers] Freddy is an Old Giza

Ok, we still have way more units than I thought. I thought the cities were like, wide open. Obviously holding an attack from the west, too, will be very difficult ... annoying they have that fleet, too.

Nice taking OT6m's city with you.

Turn 155

Civstats tells us Gavanth took a city. Last turn I offered OT6mn a cease fire but was a bit surprised to get this peace offer from them. I guess they want me to move the garrison from our border to slow Gavanth down...

Defending Parkin I seem to have killed a Cat and a Mace but lost a city, a Longbow and a War Chariot. Gavanth have four maces threatening Admiral Brick Astbar but their main stack is SE of Krillpatine and comprises 8 Cats, 11 Maces, 3 Axes, 2 Spears and a chariot. The city is on flat ground and has no walls so bombarding with the cats will give City Raider maces odds even on fully fortified longbows, so what I'll do is leave a couple of them there with their fingers crossed and evacuate the rest. I *think* they have Engineering so I'll need to make sure I fall back a couple of tiles into Ichabacca's culture.

I should be able to kill a couple of these maces and prolong Brick a little. A Cat scratches all four maces in a glorious death.

Then two X-bows kill at 80% each. Two C1 War chariots lose at 21% and 43%, then a green WC nearly lost at 98% before a 4XP WC won at >99%. Yay! The X-bows will die next turn, but that's still 220 hammers for me and 280 hammers for him, so I win, right?

Okay, now to figure out where to fall back to... When Krillpatine falls my borders will recede to the pink line. They have no 2-movers in sight so the units I don't mind them knowing about can go on the plains hill. I'll want to keep the number of X-bows I have a secret though, perhaps by keeping them in Ichabacca. If I can throw about ten at this stack it should stop the attack in its tracks. I tried to log back in to check how many I have already but Zanth and his impermeable firewall had already logged in frown. I know I have three non-dead-men-walking X-bows, about four under construction and three Archers (with enough cash to upgrade them) so I'm hopeful...

Don't forget they can threaten Helium next turn. I agree that the north was worthwhile. Killing the stack would be very fun. smile

Unfortunately there's not much to do to save Helium - its on flat ground with hills all around. In fact if they delay attacking Iccabacca to hit Helium that should give enough time to get the force of x-bows I want together to hit their stack on flat ground afterward.

Also unfortunately I'm pretty sure that someone has guilds and its most likely to be Gavanth, so even if I can total this stack it'll only defer the inevitable...

If they strike you down you will come back more powerful than I could possibly imagine... (unless they rename you frown)

Turn 156

I'm hoping that OT6mn want to help out on defence a bit.

Krillpatine fell as expected, but one of last turn's heroic X-bows killed another mace smile

The obvious easy place to start is with a naval battle:
Injured Trireme vs Galley 70%... LOSS frown

Bah. Well at least we can hit a stack on flat land.
Cat vs C1 Mace 12%... LOSS (2 hits and 4 collateral hits)

And then follow up with a good shot at a kill.
X-bow vs C1 Mace 71%... WIN (2 hits)

That leaves the stack looking (to me) too battered to take Ichabacca in a couple of turns. I think they'll either advance to the plains hill or wait in place to heal and for their cat stack and some more maces (and a healer unit?) to join up.

We're close to the next GG, although we're looking pretty light on units right now.

Here are the defences. Add three longbows and two archers two tiles from Icchabacca. I hope to have a good shot at wiping the stack next turn...

They ran away frown.

I thought about staging to attack next turn but I just don't have enough units to do a decent amount of damage. I'll just sit tight for a bit and wait for the Knights to turn up.

Turn 159

I should win a couple of battles here with a Longbow and a Crossbow, so I added a couple of War Chariots and brought up a longbow/crossbow pair to mop up any survivors/reinforce next turn. Unless there are a couple of Knights on the Galley you can see. Still no sign of Knights though, so maybe someone else got Guilds? Ah, have a look a the scoreboard - they get Guilds this turn. That was a good use of 40 gold...

I'm afraid you're dead Brick cry. I retreated a couple of War Chariots that wouldn't have been much use on defence.

Turn 161

Brick fell and Gavanth moved 15 Maces, 4 HA and 9 Cats toward Ichabacca. I thought a few X-bows on a hill might draw some Cat hits or kill a few Maces or persuade them to move to flat ground. Fingers crossed. There are 6 X-bows, 4 LB in Ichabacca and we have 6 cats available to hit the stack next turn.
