I wonder if there's a way that we can use the Galleon to draw the Machine Gun back towards his core? If we sailed the empty Galleon un-obviously past the Barb city (i.e. make him think we were trying to keep it secret when we aren't), could we road in fast enough to launch a surprise attack on Tartar if the MG pulled back to defend his core?

Probably we can but it is not good idea. If we just capture barbarian city we receive angry neighbor willing revenge. If we kill one of his closest cities we receive a broken neighbor who is simply too far from us and barbarian he will abandon himself. He will be annoyed, but we can rely that scooter wont lose his chance and with 2/3 of his core cities he wont be as dangerous.

What options have we got right now?
1) show our intentions, capture workers and continue peacefull development
2) try to luck with his core with just 1 galeon
3) prepare combined naval and land attack by ~T28-29
If we try 1) and he takes it easily then we still try 3).

So I think I might be in favour of option 1.
We land and capture his Worker pair, then offer him a 10t Peace Treaty while the Galleon heads back to pick up a second load of troops.
To me that says "we're pissed off that you claimed this spot but we're not going to go full-Viking* on you, we've claimed our prize now let's go back to being friends". Then we can backstab them later if we feel like it.
* Sorry, but you are building a reputation around here...
If they don't take the Peace, we can use the first set to block the supply line and then bring the second load of troops in.

Also, they did roll the turn and play back-to-back, so we'll need to take a look and see if anything else is in the area before deciding.

I dont want to provoke you on unnecessary aggression myself. But I agreee that taking workers seems to be reasonable tribute from settling close to us with just 1 rifle. Though they can cover workers with MG, then we have nothing to do.
P.S: do not let fool you with what people say. Among online players I was famous wonder builder, lol

t271 -
I see you logged in and did the difficult bits (& some of the easy ones) ... probably a wise idea!
You'll have seen that Donovan had moved his Workers to complete a Mine SW of Tartar rather than the Deer; maybe he saw our Galleon or maybe not, but anyway I held it in place. I did tweak a few tiles around - mostly Farms to Lakes in Chickens and a newly-completed farm at Rabbits - but didn't touch the Specialists. Finished the chop at Goats to complete the Rifle and Rabbits for the Barracks.
Anyway, here we are at K-3:

Oh, I'm going out tomorrow night and probably won't have a chance to play before a) it's late & I'm tired and b) I've probably had too many alcoholic beverages. I can probably handle "enough specialists in Llamas and max Specialists in Chickens", but let's agree not to take the chance if you have the opportunity to play, OK? I'd expect to check CivStats before logging in, so if I see you having ended turn I won't bother (I''ll just head over to PB32 to drunken play that one).
I'd planned to have the Workers SE of Rabbits start on the Pigs, the Copper Worker Road, and then either the 1E chopper or the Cows roader (or both) move to the Horses. Actually, both works well for 4t Pasture & 2t Road. No idea about the rest, but we could start on some Workshops - maybe 7 of Goats?
If we have a chance to wait until after Donovan plays, that would be good, but the rest of the turn is more important. If they play first and the Workers are exposed on the Deer, grab them and then offer Peace is my suggestion.
There may have been beers tonight as well....

We should move galleon somewhere, DZ must be making culture in the barbarian city. Also it is not safe to keep full galleon right on the borders. As you can see I put privateer in production.
Ok, of course I will make our turn if I am around.

I declared war to DZ and captured 3 workers. After it I realised that we wont be able to get Communism at the beginning of the turn. It will be a shame if we lose Great Spy to steal 3 workers.
BGN got Great Artist, but he has already played and he hasnt got Communism yet. In fact there is a chance to build Kremlin in 1 turn without GE, if he chops all his woods and prepares decent overflow somehow. But let's cross fingers and hope for the best.
Here is an overview:
You really should have started improving pigs, they give incredible output.
