Man, what a fun game to lurk! The set-up phase should be held as a model for PBs going forward (minus the issues with barb cities ofc, although that seems to be more a problem with the game not correctly handling them for late-era scenarios).

Absolutely. Smoothest games I've ever played in were ones where someone had a specific concept for a game and recruited around that.

"Let's do this specific thing, who wants in" certainly makes a lot of sense for planning purposes, for everything from Pitboss to dinner plans.
