[Spoilers] It's time to be casual again

We've been struggling to get the techs we need, and I think it's been the same for everyone else. Stonehenge is also still up for grabs. Strange game though, I admit

Heh - if henge is still available when we get stone hooked up, we ought to try for it.

Yep. We're in desperate need for culture. And most likely we'll get some nice hammer-to-gold modifier. Also I'm in favor of trying to get judaism after masonry

Ichabod has gold and whales. Where's our gold ?

Demos are pretty terrible. Once again, where's our gold ?

Of the people we know only Ichabod has 5 cities. Jowy has 4, Dreylin 3 and Molach 4. And we just got our 5th !

After talking about dishes from the northwest, the northeast and the east of France, it's time to head south ! Cassoulet comes from the Toulouse region in the southwest.

It's made with flageolet beans, carrots, onions, a tomato sauce, and lots of different meats (usually including lamb and at least one Toulouse sausage)

Jowy and Dreylin are boxing us in. Honestly this Jowy city is a reach for him, 10 tiles from his cap and only 8 from ours. I really want to make him pay for it but between the fact that we're stuck on warriors for now and the fact that our plan is to get the pyramids I'm not sure how we're going to do that.

The good news of the turn is that I realized that this is an island. It's probably worth it to send a settler on that PH soonish.

Also our demos are not terrible anymore. That feels good.

How about...with knights?

Or else we might be able to make something happen with Jaguars, particularly if he leaves that forest in place. Going to need IW soonish anyway to clearcut all our jungles.

Agreed we can't really do much of anything this instant.

Oooh, is that furs? Plus ICTR? Yeah, as soon as we have a border locked down to the east, that's an excellent city site. May be more out beyond, too. Good silver lining, I won't be nearly as miffed about being unable to settle the Jackalopes if we get furs anyway.

I've had the same thought. We need a barrack+IW, so that's not going to happen right away.

It's pig. And the Jackalope site isn't out of the question, Jowy can't really stop us from taking it if we do it right.

Darn. Well, sorta. The island site does want food, after all.

Hmm, maybe I'm looking at it wrong, but it seems to me that his most recent city would give us a very unfavorable military position. If we settle the Jackalope site and, say, Niu-Tou, then our border would be three cities of ours against one of his. I really would rather not volunteer to be forked that easily. Of course, if we can take his city then the situation is much more controlled.

Slightly alternate question: do we want to leave room for a Jowy-Dreylin border? I think it's likely that Jowy has a neighbor to the east, but generally seems better to leave Jowy more options of people to fight...

It would but I refuse to keep playing with just 1 happiness resource.

Dreylin and Jowy have settled pretty hard in our direction, I'm not sure they can get a border without stretching themselves thin. But we can't be sure until we know more about the map

Ichabod is very close to Jowy's capital
