DaveV and Keelyn: even though you broke my heart and killed me

Turn 61: good news and bad news. The hunter easily survived the triple team:

I promoted to combat 5, as planned.

The warrior doesn't look as though he'll be so lucky:

Setting up for two southern cities. I hope Mardoc isn't settling up on me to my north.

Turn 62. My fourth city goes down. plako is up to six, Aurorarcher and Mardoc are tied with me at four.

End of turn border expansion shows nothing in the inner sea. I'm betting that Bob put something really good in there, but not reachable by galley.

The barb warrior is still threatening my warrior in the Forbidden Zone. Another warrior and goblin are in position to attack my hunter, but I'll be amazed if they attack: the warrior only has 2.5% odds of doing any damage (for 9 HP), and the goblin's odds are about 1% of doing 8 HP damage.

Turn 64: yay for a low-odds win and exactly the 3 XP my warrior needed for a promo-heal.

Four turns to heal after promoting to combat 3. And apparently the barbs are suicidal enough to attack my super duper hunter. Maybe they don't take first strikes into account?

Meanwhile, I'm wasting a couple worker turns to speed up My Satisfaction by one turn.

Note plako's borders to the south. He may have settled on the copper hill or 1E of it. Looks like a boundary we can both tolerate, which is good. He has lots of room to expand, so I'm hoping he won't want to attack my hill cities for a while.

So FotT is unlocked now? What does the tech screen look like? Is cartography fit city states?

Turn 66. Maybe plako is not going to be a peaceful neighbor.

The beefier Son was on the jungle hill southwest of my settler, now city, and was pushed out by my borders. Should have declared war last turn, plako! I'm still hoping he decides not to declare; he almost certainly has more units in the fog, and may well have more coins jingling in his pocket that he could spend on promotions.

The demo screen shows a large jump for plako, probably due to upgrades.

In the Forbidden Zone, a barb warrior attacked my hunter, and another one is next in line. Yet another barb warrior is coming after my warrior, but my guy should be at or near full health when the barb attacks.

Yes.

The future tech plans assume peace, of course. Subject to change without notice.

Yes, because:

... and it's war.

plako will have 68% odds against the shock warrior, but only 29% against the other warrior. Then his wolf pack will have 71% odds against the scout. I'm hoping that he'll decide not to roll the dice, because:

Aurorarcher is poised to run away with the game (see the event log).

Besides Aurorarcher's sick golden age demos, you can see that plako's power only went up by 4000 from last turn. Mine jumped to 61K with the addition of three warriors. I can keep cranking them out if plako wants to hand the game to Aurorarcher.

Also, Mardoc built his sixth city, tied with plako. Auroarcher and I have five. Aurorarcher will probably sit on five cities and use his golden age production to build Governor's Manors. That's my usual strategy with the vampires, anyway.

Well, this stinks:

14% odds of winning all three of those battles. I hate it when the game turns on garbage like that. Now he'll get lots of promotions for winning at ridiculous odds.

To add insult to injury, my warrior almost died attacking his wolf pack at 99.5%.

I ate the turn of anarchy to revolt to City States, Nationhood, Apprenticeship. Now I'll have a promotion for my future warriors. I'll be building a bunch now, and Aurorarcher will win the game easily. Sigh.

banghead. Just banghead.

plako's mini-stack continues to wander through my territory. I continue to amass warriors.

In the forbidden zone, I decided to attack with my warrior against a goblin at 99.6% odds, and took quite a bit of damage.

Turn 71. plako offers white peace. A great deal for him; he killed my city and three of my units at the cost of a wolf pack (and using up all his RNG luck for this game, I hope).

I accepted; going into grudge mode won't help me now. But you're on my list, plako.

I moved a worker onto the jungle pigs (which plako pillaged as an additional thumb in the eye) to rebuild the road and attempt to resettle My Satisfaction. If plako has invalidated that city, I probably will have to go into grudge mode.

My Forbidden Zone warrior is back in healing mode.
