I'm having some very unusual trouble connecting.

For a while, when trying to connect from home, I would get a Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library error popup "This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way" and the game would crash right after the game itself shows 'connected to host'. But it worked fine from campus, and I spend more time there than at home, so not a huge problem.

Still, figuring the error at home meant there was a problem with my router, I went in an opened up all the ports. Now, rather than crashing, the connection simply times out. When I check if my ports are in fact open, I get mixed messages depending on whether ask http://www.yougetsignal.com/tools/open-ports/ (closed) or us the PortForward.com PFPortChecker utility (open).

Meanwhile, if I try to connect to pitboss.watto.no:2058 (PB27), I still get the Runtime error and the game crashes.

Even more strangely, pitboss.watto.no:2060 (PB33) lets me through all the way to the leaders screen, and has no trouble connecting to peers (sorry about the lag, Dreylin).

Has anyone seen this before?

Pitboss 32 needs to be restarted please as I accidentally connected with the wrong mod this morning and it appears to have crashed. Sorry for the trouble!

I had it happen. Got the same error on both my desktop and laptop. Reloading to a previous save fixed it. When it didn't work for me, it still worked for others. Other times it happened to someone and the problem went away with time. One time everyone was getting the error, a reload fixed that. It's a strange problem. EDIT: If I recall correctly, I too was able to play one PB while the other was giving me runtime errors, both were hosted by Caledorn.
