Turn 144

REM panic over. Should we invade him for causing us trouble? Mack is hitting his stride and Liberalism is his for the taking. I assume he wants Astro soon so he can invade OT4E and won't bother sandbagging it for a better prize, but we can take Philosophy and Paper in three turns if we think he needs a nudge.

This turn's favourite screen. Fingers crossed for that Parthenon build.

Turn 145

I think this galley is just keeping an eye on what OT4E and us are up to. It just bounces back and forward.

The barb Galley chased our work boat all the way to Statler. We'll probably lose the nets next turn. If only we had a spare work boat mischief. Comotay's golden age ended and they went back to slavery. Their Colossus coast is useful for whipping I suppose. I think I figured out where the Knights and Swords are heading though. Not exactly rich pickings unless they continue onto Pindi's mainland.

Fingers crossed for the great spy...

Down to business then. We have too many soon-to-be-obsolete, if not already-obsolete units (our unit costs alone are 42gpt) and we don't have a 10XP unit. There are five expendable Vultures to use here. Borders popped and so we get three times the normal XP towards our next GG. The Axes need 4-5 hits to get them into the range our two potential HE swords need.

- Vulture vs C1 Axe - 1%... LOSS (2 hits smile)
- Vulture vs Axe - 1%... LOSS (2 hits smile)
The Spear is the top defender now - we need 3-4 hits to get it into the right range.
- Vulture vs W2 Spear - 9%... WINNNNN! (:Duh: - he wasn't supposed to win! That's 6XP for the Vulture and 18GG XP though! eek )

Now we need 2-3 hits on these axes:
- Vulture vs 3.6/5 C1 Axe - 19%... LOSS! (3 hits! jive)
- Vulture vs 3.6/5 Axe - 21%... FLAWLESS LOSS frown
I think the chances for the sword against the C1 Axe are 97%, so we don't really need a back-up target, so let's just kill this one with a chariot.
- C1 Chariot vs 3.6/5 Axe - - 83%... FLAWLESS WIN! (Also 3XP for the chariot and 9XP towards our next GG - we're on 39/60 now!)

So this is the biggie:
- CR2 8XP Sword vs 1.3/5 Axe - 97%...

FLAWLESS WIN and 10XP

We've cut our costs by 3gpt, we're at 45/60 GG points and we'll start the Heroic Epic in TSC next turn. Life is good. nod

The long awaited infrastructure report. Left out granaries and lighthouses because those are everywhere and/or being built if they are not there (except Ernie, whose sole existence is a secret to everybody).

Libraries.

Infra will be a good thing. Markets then zigs.

lol I see three libraries! That's plenty, right?

The real problem is we have no commerce cities in the second half of the list (except Big Bird). I was planning to get around that by building wealth once forges/zigs are in place to run the slider higher so more beakers go through the academy.

Could be worse crazyeye

Also, is there any good location for FP? Or do we plan to take out OT4E eventually and build it somewhere in his lands?

Oh, it's definitely two libraries. I wasn't even imbibing last night. No commerce cities is a problem, but lack of zigs is something we can cure. Some cities are at 9-10 gpt maintenance. This is definitely a downside of serfdom, infra is much harder to get set up in the new cities.

Speaking of commerce, that river in the jungle should be Sumerian.

Thinking Snuff or someone in OT4E land.

Oops, yeah, I thought we had a city called City with all the infra. smoke

These are all our cities at 0% science. Animal and Beaker are our main commerce hubs, but a few others could do with some infra too

- TSC - 25 base commerce - has other priorities right now hammer
- Gonzo - 34 - needs Library
- Bunsen - 27 - needs Library & Market
- Fozzie - 23 - working a merchant, only makes 5hpt with its tundra mine, so a Library is a 15 turn build - should probably just bite the bullet and build it
- Scooter - 17 - once its full-grown it could be a commerce or a prod city. I was leaning toward the latter, but we could put some plains cottages down...
- Waldorf - 21 - this is mostly just coastal commerce while we grow, but a Market could be handy
- Big Bird - 29 - going to get Library & Market soon
- Cookie Monster - 10 - already has 2 cottages so could be a commerce city

Any thoughts on other ways to get beakers?

Our capital is pretty close to the centre of the empire right now. Distance costs for Snuffy are only about 3gpt without a Zig, so I don't think the Forbidden Palace will do all that much right now. But what about the blue square? mischief

REM has tech visibility and should just about have city visibility, at least on our nearer cities. His power is nonexistant and he's relying on espionage to keep him safe until he gets to whatever his tech goal is.

So how about building a load of Galleys, moving them towards Mack - staging somewhere around Waldorf, then we use a couple of great scientists to bulb Astronomy, upgrade the Galleys, load our army, head over to REM and pick off 5 coastal cities on t1 of the war? Oh, but we got Civil Service so we need to clear Paper, Printing Press and Education before the Scientists will bulb Astro. And REM can see what techs we have if we get Paper rolleye. Okay, any other ideas?
