So it looks like the issue is you played some, then your attacker played, and now you aren't sure what to do about turn splits?
I'd say just finish your turn and take the second half of turn splits and be done with it

It's a little more complex than that, it does rather put me on the back foot.

Isn't that what a good war declaration is supposed to do...?
Also, I fat-fingered my why into your thread for a moment while phone-browsing; exited without seeing more than a quote chain of you & BRick.

True, but I was essentially double moved in the area, and a double move back wouldn't really solve the issue either adequately IMO.

Hmmm, difficult.
Well I've enough self-interest in not having to replay my own war turn that I probably can't contribute anything helpful to the conversation, so I'll just shut up and wait for the admins to consult & cogitate.

I obviously don't know enough about the situation to know the specifics, but to put it broadly... This is why it's not ideal to play half your turn when the turn immediately rolls, and then play the other half 23 hours later according to Civstats. BGN logs in once per day and shouldn't be expected to do more than that on short notice, so what was he was supposed to do?
Quote:5/27/16 4:29 am REM Logged out
5/27/16 4:21 am REM Logged in
5/26/16 5:15 am REM Logged out
5/26/16 5:03 am REM Score increased to 1880
5/26/16 4:45 am REM Logged in
Note the dates. BGN had two choices:
1) Declare war in his normal window
2) Wait until who-knows-when after the turn timer was basically gone to play after REM. This would require a pause which he would need to request, and that would telegraph his intent to declare and give away whatever surprise advantage he had.
I would have done the same in his shoes. Obviously it sounds like there may be more unwinding to do, so I trust Brick to take a look and determine what's best.
Not trying to sound confrontational either - just figured it would be worth noting for future reference.

BGN moved after me in the previous turn, I did half of my turn and was mulling over essentially protecting myself or a preemptive strike (I talked about this in my thread) but didn't have the time to play until just after midnight. I saw he had played on CivStats and assumed he had decided not to attack, so I went to sleep. Only noticed the issue in logging in to complete...

Scooter, thanks, that sums it up nicely for me. I'm not keen on a reload just for the inconvenience of others who have played and warred this turn after my session. If BRick or someone else determines I'm at fault for something I'm fine with taking some sort of penalty if needed though I'm not clear on what else I really should have done. Whatever is decided, let's just keep this thing moving along.
Preview edit: REM, I nearly cross-posted you though I'm not sure what else I can add that isn't spoilerish or could be construed as diplo.

In a very vaguely related way: pindicator, did you forget to end turn or do you have more to do...?

I don't think there was anything malicious in it at all, don't get me wrong. And a lot has happened in that timeframe. Spoilerish below for other players.
