BGN played in such a way that REM would get an edge. Brick could have let REM stuff things into the city but that would have been kinda of silly. Ether BGN broke the rule and has to suck it or it's REM's fault for not letting BGN know he didn't end turn and he has to suck it. I would rule for REM, and might even punish BGN for breaking the rules by allowing him to go first on the reload, because the rules say nothing about not knowing you didn't end turn and BGN should have contacted me--but Brick ruled for BGN.

This game has been on the brink of a world war since day 1, and what looked like an inevitable explosion of death has turned into just dreylin stomping DZ and it looks like REM and scooter may hold off for now. I need moar blood! hammer Or this game will end in a space victory. crazyeye

Nah, it's too tight for a space victory. Between bombers, commandos, and end-game navy there's too much opportunity for devastating alpha-strikes.

I was kidding, but REM and scooter remind me of Maverick at the end of Top Gun. "It's no good, I'm disengaging."

They're probably making the right calls, but I want to see the world burn.

I've just lost all enjoyment now because it feels like my adjudication has disheartened REM enough to want to drop out and that will lead to the game being ruined/not getting the competitive end it deserves and it's all my fault. banghead

I think REM will be fine in a couple days. If he has to drop out it's because of his family, not this game.

GMs cannot stop players from going NMR. GMs are also a part of the game so it would be like rage-quiting because you lost a wonder on a coin-flip. It's REMs fault for not speaking up earlier and if scooter+BGN got an edge for speaking up (making a good argument) then so be it.

But the AI can request that you declare war on someone. There is an option in the diplomatic interface where you can request that someone declare war on someone else.

That request is disabled in multiplayer. Not sure what the reasoning was for that.

Not quite correct. It is very possible to bribe an AI to attack another player regardless of whether they are an AI/human or single/multiplayer. It is just absent from diplo screens with another human player (along with civic/religion swaps, trade embargos etc.)

What you can't do is force peace between an AI and another human player. While the option is there on the AI diplo screen it is always redded out.

How much longer is it until the game is decided? I admit I was hoping for some grand intervention after Dreylin's fourth annexation of rival territory (blood! drama!). But instead Scooter & Sulla have their eyes on Pindicator and REM still has Dreylin as a long-term target.

Edit: If the REM-Scooter pact is successful the former comments are moot.
