However, you are one malus twice. The extra +2 unhealth from dirty power is actually the stated +2 unhealth in the readout from a coal plant rather than an additional +2 from access to coal.
But regardless, I'm good. We have free aqueducts and harbours for a lot more health than normal. Also I have no need for coal to be hooked currently
Hmmm, are you sure? The coal malus should come from the factory itself, while the dirty power malus should be independent of that, and only come once you have the shale plant online... well, who knows. It's a hell of a lot of unhealth, at any rate!

Yeah I tested all of this when checking whether I needed coal access.
So it's 1 unhealth for factory
2 extra each for coal and oil if hooked with the factory
2 unhealth for power
2 extra unhealth if city only has access to dirty (coal/shale) power.
So without coal access, I'm adding 5 unhealth per city with powered factories. It would be 7 with coal access.

Well, Dreylin is hot on the ball! I barely had even played the turn and he had noted that I had declared on DZ... Wow.
To the city capture... When I logged in this morning, and started the turn 2 things caught my eye. BGN had declared on DZ and he only had a cavalry in a city I had 2 cavalry able to hit this turn. This was a little bit of a dilemma. Whilst wanting to prolong the DZ/Drey4E war, I did not want to give away cheap cities to BGN. BGN had moved to be able to hit it next turn with a cavalry.
It isn't a particularly special city but it isn't bad either. It also has the benefit of allowing me to settle the x where those 2 DZ workers are. If I allowed this to go to BGN next turn he would lock me out of here. Also I currently have 7 turns left where we cannot fight, and I might as well make the most of this. It does mean my deals to DZ helping him stay propped up are cancelled, but the only thing I was getting was silk (which I have just acquired now) so it is more his loss.
So I charged in, got a withdraw and a kill, and took the city. I didn't get a screenshot but it seemed to be very infra heavy. I got it with a factory, and about 6 other buildings, so a very nice result overall. BGN might be a bit annoyed and start trashing the improvements which I can't do much about, but if he does I can trash them myself for the gold too. I also managed to get 2 free workers off that x tile too. Not many other aggressive moves done, just a little cover for the city. I don't know whether he will continue the attack below.
He seems to be charging into the machine gun with his CG inf. He probably will win if that area is not reenforced too mind. Without much def bonuses I would expect him to kill the machine gun with the third inf and then the 2 cavalry units shortly after. If my attack makes him more cautious in making the final move on DZ then I have had a good impact in my favour for this game. (also although the 3 way split is annoying, at least it also separates Drey4E and myself if we come to blows of the last DZ cities)
I know we are in GA, but this city is a beast. Maximizing hammers, still loads of science. Lots of infra. This is also exactly the reason why I didn't bother with the coast. I've completed the cities happy and healthy (well 1 over healthy) at size 18. This will only be worse when I need to hook coal/oil, and for minimal gains (as short term the specialists over the coast provide much greater yields) it really isn't worth the hammers for a grocer and temple for extra happy/health here currently.
I'm currently maxing out on soliders, inf builds in most places. Non barracks sites are getting ships/airships. War is coming. Drey4E in his GA seems to be maxing the sci. I have city visibility everywhere and next turn should have build vis everywhere. His border cities with me he is just getting wealth, no unit builds. I might be able to overtake him soon in troop numbers. He has 2 turns to steam power, and probably a further 4ish to assembly line. Really I need to have committed to an attack before then if that is what I choose. Scooter seems to be going military too. Indeed I noted a theo/vassal/PS switch. Thats hinting he is going for Drey4E soon. 9xp in his religions cities with the pentagon too, and he is agg! Nice work. This is all going to blow up very soon, glad we do not share a border :P

Also I had been able to make this attack for a couple of turns, however I did want to prolong the war! I just didn't want the gains to go to BGN for cheap.

I'm really enjoying watching this one! I'd comment more, but I'm getting paranoid about spoilers.

You can ask if you want. Without a teammate I'm probably posting much less compared to scooter/Sulla and Drey4E of the ones who are leading. It's nice to not just talk to myself too
What's gonna happen now? Will any of us feel able to take on Drey4E? His production is based hugely around cheap whips and drafts with all the bio farms, I think it will be hard for him to transfer to hammer economies like mine and scooters. I can't wait to see the investigate city info hopefully next turn to see how tight his happy situation is.
I'm pushing out huge numbers of EPs compared to everyone else, and simply from some cheap courthouses (48 hammers for 3gpt saved also, and near 8-9gpt pre SP) and 2 intelligence agencies only. This is a theme of many of my games though. I like to get the static EP buildings up early because it is hard to catch back up later.

Indeed. The lack of national wonders does make me a little sad on this game. It's kept all the limited use ones like globe or hermitage and killed the good ones like the epics and moai.

I've been thinking about it btw and my route to land is more and more looking like a smashing amphibious assault through pind if he doesn't get infantry soon. He has an awful lot of frigates though. I don't plan on getting better boats than wooden ones for quite some time. I also have no drydocks...
