There is one huge aspect I forgot from the equation. Apparently there is a new queue system that lets you choose what role you want and matches you up so that everyone gets to play their main role. Is that actually live and not in PBE? It would not remove the group mentality issue, but it would remove the headache of trying to stand up for myself against those duo bot fuckers.

Yeah you pick two roles now in ranked, a primary and a secondary.

I just learned that the new champ select came out at the same time as dynamic queue. Clearly there is a huge positive change: The champ select, and a huge negative change: the dynamic queue. If Riot really claims that more people play ranked now than before and they attribute that success to the dynamic queue, then they are just being dishonest and manipulative about it.

Yes, of course. The obvious conclusion. Pretty sure it's all a conspiracy.

So i was bored last week and found my way into boosting an account from b5 to s5. I've never been that low on the elo ladder before, nor have i boosted an account before so i found it interesting enough to do for those reasons, as soon as an account of a friend presented itself with the opportunity.

Now... i don't know what the deal is with bronze5 videos on youtube but the people i encountered were not THAT bad....
I mean sure...they were constantly atracted to mid lane as if riot was giving away skins to whoever stayed mid in push-mode for the longest time.
They would either ignore dragon and baron utterly and completely
OR go do it when it was time to push and finish the game or gather for an in imminent teamfight
OR even split up and do both baron and dragon at the same time...with as you may imagine...limited success in doing either.

So yeah...it was weird...but not as weird as youtube would have you believe...at least not as far as my experience went:
36 games... 32 wins and 4 losses... from...about the middle of b5 to s5 0lp.
All of them with Sona, Soraka, Nami and Lux. Had a 19 game winstreak with Sona from the middle of b3 all the way into silver.

(a compendium of it all. For some reason op.gg stuck the loss counter at 176 when it was really 173 so i corrected it in paint)

don't tell rito, please :P

The problem is that just like there's no cap on Challenger skill level (or Master, considering how much of Challenger is dormant smurfs), there's no floor on Bronze 5. In fact, there's matchmaking problems at the very low end, just like at the high end. There's also the fact that when you're using divisions, you aren't going to match perfectly with MMR, especially when promotion games punish you for not winning games in the right order. How many games did your friend have on that account, before you boosted it (and btw, there's no reason not to just boost it with Dynamic Queue instead of getting both you and your friend suspended at best)?

I'm going through a similar thing with Heroes of the Storm--Season 1 started, and I got a lucky win streak through placements and my first batch of games to go up to Gold 1, then got an unlucky losing streak (where I'm reporting half my team in the majority of games) to fall back to Gold 3 (where I started after placements). Now the personal adjustment bonus (translation: the uncertainty in my MMR) has mostly dried up, so it's completely pointless to try to climb for the rest of the season (which is thankfully only about another month long). There is absolutely no reason why the natural course over a season shouldn't be a decent climb (say, if you play 100-150 games with a ~50% win rate, climbing from Silver 5 to Gold 5, or Gold 3 to Plat 5, or Dia 3 to Dia 2). Yes, it's rank inflation, but so what? MMR would still exist for those who care (preferably in-game, but third-party services provide an approximation), the soft reset after each season would prevent everyone from being Diamond, and it would make people feel a lot better without having to dedicate their lives to the game (and people who have less time are more likely to pay for progression wink ).

The thing is we tried that but she is very stubborn and uncooperative with advices. Also she has internet issues.
My way was simply faster and with less headaches.
She was 132 by 169 or so before i took over and so far Riot hasn't noticed
I told her not to do any rankeds till she increases her winning percentage in normals and so far she listened...for the most part.

i'm not taking the trip again if she degresses back to b5, don't worry! One time thing.
