Are there any differences in Culture level or even faction culture between those two outliers? e.g. the size8 @2 unhappy has a bunch of Elven Culture?

Definitely the case that it depends on city size.

Nope. That size 8 cityy is one of my island cities. It's closer to war front but I doubt that matters. Actually, I need to check if some of its tiles have elven percentages. It used to have border tension with the elves but only by sea. I'll check when I get the new turn.

Pine fell (razed). Mardoc lost a lot of troops. Pics to come in the evening when I get back to home, no time to update now. Dave has 4 chariots and 4 warrios in range to hit me while Mardoc has only 1 warrior. I hardly lost any units but was forced to use BB few times to take it in one turn (might mean more losses if they turn barb). The WW jumped to sky, now almost 300 from Mardoc which made a lot my cities go unhappy (by a pretty big amount) at end of turn. That's not good but at least I get some hammers from those. Maybe some gambling houses would be nice addition now, especially if I think it's all gold for a while now. Plako is massing in south with 30 units (10 chariots), I think he is using cash to upgrade units or if not he will do it later.

Some promised pictures.

Combats with Mardoc/Dave.

I lost two Morois, that says a lot hammerhammer and killed over 30 units mischief. A lot of xp coming next turn if I won't lose many of those, in the pics you can see the 4 chariots of Dave (actually nm, they are just cut away, 4 chariots are 1SE of Mardoc's cap). They can potentially hit some of my units but the odds won't be very good to start with.

The Vampire shown in pic is full health but unfortunately it won't act as top defender, but it might if my other Moroi will get hit bad/dies. Not excactly sure where the line goes that Chanelling 2 unit is put as top defender. I actually managed to play around with this against Mardoc, with some of my very good Morois I promoted them to Shock to make PoLs defend before Warriors and so that I could save my worst units to take out Tigers for example.

I am not sure what I'd do as Dave here, he could maybe kill some units but then next turn they would die. I'm not sure what he has in the fog though but not many of them can reach here that's for sure.

The WW is kind of starting to hit me harder and harder. And it won't change to better.

And mostly due to this.

I guess the WW is lowered slowly if you don't do combat for a while but it's only removed fully if I'll eliminate Mardoc.

In the south plako's got chariot army. These could hit my stack any time they wanted, but only over river (and I'd win). But I have to be careful with that one tile 1W of Gnistvag, if he'll road that he could hit the city with 5 movers without going through the tile where my units are. That Elephant is kind of in a good spot for me right now lol. Not that plako would attack just yet, but just for the laughs...

And in Gnistvag he has 14 units.

Here's demos after combats. Notice Mardoc's power, it dropped by over 100k. Also plako has grown bigger than me in population because I eat mine here and there once in a while shhh. Entropy mana will be improved quickly, just got my first Adept out.

Had a big turn. Razed 1 city of plako's and killed his chariot stack + Shaman + 2 workers he was going to use to road the tile 1W of Gnistvag. He has around 20 units to counterattack with but I've promotion advantage. Though some of my units are very injuried. Still worth it to kill all those chariots even if I'm gonna lose bunch of units shortly. Also annoying detail, you can't pillage road under Portal. Sucks frown

In the north Dave and Mardoc have about 35 units close to Mardoc's cap or inside it. Most warriors but 8 chariots and one Catapult also. I'm not really worried here, I also have about 30 units with huge promotion advantage - and then for all more safety I'm standing in an AF. I am forking two of Mardoc's cities of which the other I could've taken last turn had I wanted.

Pics to come later. WW is starting to be a lot more painful every turn.

Here are some pics before any attacks on T120.

Hyttaholm. I had been waiting for plako to move troops away from this city, he had 4 on T119, now only 2. I bet he wasn't aware that I could reach it with Commando units + summons.

Chariot stack. Notice the 2 workers preparing to road the tile 1W of Gnistvag.

And in Gnistvag. 16 units, some well promoted with Shocks but mostly just mobility or nothing.

Then I attacked. First commando Vampire kills that Son in Hyttaholm at 99% odds, then some summons and it's razed. I could've kept it to eat it a few times for some (but not a lot) xp. But I decided not to, I have no thanes in south and plako would be likely able to take it back. I'll play smart this time and raze it when I can.

Then I killed that Str 6 on defense Zealot (with 3-4 first strikes eek) with my best unit left. Then I attacked with hasted Morois but instead of just attacking with all of them I didn't fully promote all of them but instead used Burning Blood and attacked. Killing Chariots is pretty easy so if I wasn't damaged too badly I promoted to Mobility 1 and attacked again, once again promohealing afterwards. This way I was able to kill a lot of units with only attacking with few. I did this to keep my stack healthier, and it paid off quite nicely. Full combats logs and my standing army after combat.

14 units of mine, two units under the portal tile (spectre + badly injuried BP) to waste two of his attacks. If plako doesn't have too much in the fog I might just survive pretty well. We'll see.

I also entered FZ with those workers to take a look and found Dave's settler.

In the north the situation is this. My stack.

GoH needs only 1500 gold to rush buy it. Not that bad, with all the pillaging I might be able to do it next turn if I want/need to. I pillaged about 700 gold on T120.

The pic is from end of turn and I got additional WW penatly which removed my workshop, it'll be back next turn when I get furs online.

Demos.

Notice where Dave put his units, in the jungle and close to my borders. Had he kept them 1E I couldn't have done a whole lot, but now as they were quite vulnerable I was able to do some cleaning. I think he made a mistake here.

I didn't move there, but instead landed there on a second teleport. I was hoping for a spot where I could run amok in your back lines, but alas...

I didn't realize it was a second teleport. But how they ended up there when the city was still revolting? Shouldn't they have appeared closer to Willow instead?

All I know about teleporting is that I know nothing about teleporting. As I reported in my thread, there was an elephant standing on that tile, so maybe he was teleported away first? Or maybe the RNG was just having a good laugh at my expense.

What I was really hoping for was an insta- border pop when the city passed to Mardoc. I guess he just didn't pump out enough culture or something.
