Sidenote: You may be confused because in many other modmods, including the starting point for most modern modmods, More Naval AI, Great Generals are reintroduced as a separate unit which spawns in the BtS way.

I've seen this bug in FFH2, but unlike FFH2, re-installing did not fix the issue. It seems after loading this mod, I cannot load the Civlopedia, and when I start the game, there is no UI. Hotkeys still work, but the UI is totally absent (aside from pop-up UI, like the city screen). Base FFH2 and normal Civ4 both work fine, but EitB v12 seems to load sans UI (and I cannot access the Civlopedia while the mod is loaded). I'm using the Steam version of BtS and have all the latest patches. Any ideas here? I feel like there's an obvious solution to this that I'm missing.

I've had this with BTS before. Try reinstalling? (Reinstalling BTS, to be clear.)

Uninstalled BtS, reinstalled, and then reinstalled EitB. Same issue. Again, the base game works fine, and FFH2 works fine. No UI problems in either of those, and Civilopedia loads, it's only EitB that is having the problem. I guess I can try uninstalling everything, including the base game... I'm just having a hard time justifying that when it's only the mod that's having the issue. I was hoping for an easier solution.

Yeah, I'm really sorry. This isn't truly an EitB-based issue, and I really don't know what might cause it (you do have v12, right? Two folders and everything?), so I don't know how to solve it.

Yeah, it's cool. I know it's not specific to this mod as I've had the issue in Fall from Heaven 2 before as well, though uninstalling and reinstalling fixed that. But I've tried uninstalling Civ4, Warlords, and BtS, starting with a clean, fresh install, and installing v12 on that, loading the v12 mod and it's still doing the same thing. I was just entertaining the idea of maybe playing a FFH2 PBEM around here sometime, but given they all seem to use EtiB now, I wanted to get this working.
What seems to have finally worked was clearing the cache files in the Documents/My Games folder. Now everything seems to be working right.

The 12.1 patch seems to have bugged my game. Loading the mod, I got an XML error about "airships", or something along those lines, although the game did load completely. World Builder hardly works at all though. The Player Mode option does nothing- all of the submenus (such as adding or removing techs) are completely blank. Some of the map editing options are present, but the terrain menu is empty. There's also a blank "advanced start" menu I can't get rid of, and I experienced a CTD after tabbing in & out of the program a few times to write this post.

I'll have a look in a week or two.
I haven't actually ever opened the v12.1 files Ref sent me, so I'll rejig them through my normal testing process and try to identify the problems/catch any other issues. This will (probably) take a big chunk of time dedicated, so might be a while coming. Apologies.
