I thought they were going to attack this turn, attacking on the one, rather than the beat after one. Now I am not so sure. I don't think he would have sent that if he were to declare this turn.
Culturally, in the US a countdown usually finishes after the one (ie on the 0), not on the one.
It depends here. I was probably overegging it as I wanted to fight. I assumed they would go this turn, but seeing the 1 I very much doubt it. Also awkward to know exactly which turn things were sent. We have enough gold. He could and should have sent the turn number... We live and learn.

So it's on like alderaan! I'm really liking the airships. I think they are much more useful than siege actually. Although maybe I like them because they don't get damaged...
East like I thought has reached a stalemate. He hasn't plugged to go for DZs last city. This makes 2 of his captures pretty marginal due to culture swamping. It also allows him to defend properly against Scooter, and have available forces so it isn't too much of a walkover for him (Really hard to ensure that there is no one clear leader!) He has whipped extensively, so expecting to see a lot of soliders. Interestingly with upgrades that I think he has done I am still closing the solider gap looking good.
Last turn there was 2 rifles, 1 inf in the city. Now there are 6 inf. I count that as the 1 inf, 2 upgrades, the damaged one moved in, the one built EoT and a draft (i think, cant work out how another would have got in there. I think he used the cats on the stack
He has also left dogs covered by a rifle only...
It looks like he wants to counter attack into the city next turn with where the inf and cav are. HOWEVER plan here is to thwart that. I think I can bomb with 5 zepplins, then check odds. I can then if needed use the firgates to get one culture bombard at least, possibly 2 (65% odds frigate v frigate)
If I can kill whilst having 1 cav left on the galleon, he won't have culture on the tile 1W and I can move and burn the road! No counter possible until I can reenforce with 4 rifles... SWEET! And I should be able to spare a galleon to raze dogs too.

So thought about this more. Scooter of course has played and not declared is the other main news. I do need to think of an exit plan should Scooter not join in like he seems to say he will...
The other thing is he has seriously pissed me off with refusing a simple wine for dyes trade a couple of times. He doesn't have it, and is not getting it from anyone else. Just a little war weary will cause me issues in the bigger cities (which both have theatres for the bonus) why not trade resources? It is bizarre how much that is annoying me.
I will be in a strong position to sue for peace in a short while if scooter joins in. He won't want that many wars to be ongoing, and if I can't make many other inroads then offering peace for gpt could ensure I come out of this in a very strong position... I can take silkmoths too without opening myself up to easy attacks.
So this turn - retreat back to Percy in the east and save the support money. Retreat the boats there too. 2 turns of BGN peace remaining also - need to cover myself there. He's offered me 1g for OBs this turn which I accepted... He could be scouting me for weaknesses, but I haven't seen a galleon yet. Edward is most at risk, but I will have a few inf in there anyway.

I'm out now though, I do most of my commenting from my mobile. I feel the upgrades in yaks were a mistake. The cats were definitely. With the 20% def and hill I had 25% odds last turn pre upgrades. I should be able to make short work of it!

Fair. And I know you'd rather be thorough than fast.

Well I'm knackered and watching the football now, so it might be a little while yet. One other point I should make is I am keen to get Yaks this turn if possible, as that also kills an airship, and prevents a frigate from being built

So looked in again. Scooter did give the trade... Thankfully! Also zoomed into yaks. It will pop borders next turn! Extra defence then! Definitely should press it this turn. He also has built theatre/uni there. Worth trying to press definitely.
Also the other cheeky move I thought of was trying to bounce a galleon off his frigate to get 3xp extra to get to silkmoths this turn. However a combat to give 3xp is just too risky for a galleon with 3 units in really. I'm gonna have issues getting much further with this attack I think now.

Took Yaks for the loss of 2 inf to kill all that was in there Need some more thinking time re progression though
