[LURKERS] Mr. Gradgrind's Review

Tohron, as Krill said long ago ded-lurkers are de facto team members so the code wouldn't apply to you then. As soon as you read other stuff the lurker code of not interfering with the game applies to you and you did just that.

It's pretty obvious that Scooter just forgot (edit: see GJ post) so that was just helping them win...

Eh, not like perpetual lurkers like me have a vote, not really being part of the community in any appreciable way, but the situation strikes me as being more similar to a misclick than a tactical error. It's not like Scooter intended for them to be on the boat until somebody pointed out that that was a bad idea (taking at face value Scooter's initial reply indicates he thought the attack unloaded them). And if it's more like a misclick, then there's precedent for even reloading for significant misclicks that don't reveal information (i.e. can't claim misclick on attacks), which makes forewarning here seem acceptable.

This is more akin to Whosit entering and then getting magically teleported out in PB#2. The game should not do that, like not automatically unloading, but it's still your fault for forgetting.

Well, if I had known about how the same action may or may not be permissible depending on whether you're dedlurkering I would have just stuck to reading Scooter's thread.

As for now, guess I'll just take Bobchillingworth's advice and stop posting outside the lurker thread.

It's okay to post here first when in doubt, I don't think anyone would want to see you stop entirely as a result. Just take it as a lesson learned smile.

Thing is, the kind of posting I want to do is more suited to dedlurkering. If there was an option to stop reading the other threads, wait until REM gets Christo Redentur (at which point any knowledge from the other threads would be basically obsolete), and then become a Scooter dedlurker I'd take it, otherwise it's probably best if I just stick to passive observing.

I know how you feel, Tohron. There were a few times this game that I've had to sit on my hands/whine to this thread about how I wanted to find out about a certain player's plan, but couldn't without it coming off as leading due to my globally spoiled status.

This is why I'm dedlurking someone in PB34 wink.

Um. Scooter appears to have logged in after his turn (and REM's) to unload those units.
Is he not in a turn split with REM?

If this is true then we have to reload. The rules just say you have to follow the turnsplit--not making an exception when it wouldn't cause a double-move or something. As an added bonus it might make Dreylin figure out what happened and make him attack Scooter. jive

I don't think he's in a turnsplit with REM, is he?
