Turn 101 - 820AD

Dear viewer, i regret to advise that the glorious Eagle Empire is at war! Adrien, possibly still smarting from a short skirmish we had something like an eon ago, has decided to send his Knights & other units over the border for an excursion. Two brave Knights, I'll call him Sir Barry & Sir Paul as Adrien can't be bothered, brutally attacked Yannick Bolasie & Kenny Sansom as they were idly watching over workers Dave Bassett & Alan Smith. At least Bolasie (Horse Archer) managed to get his attacker down to 55% health ... hurrah!! Sadly Sansom (Chariot) merely scratched his only doing 12% damage .. boo!! Bassett & Smith were captured (at least I no longer have to pay their wages.) OK, both Knights had odds in excess of 90%, but what the hell is this?



How can he win with those odds!! Lucky, lucky bar-steward!! EDIT: just noticed he attacked with 2 Galleys .. but still!!

In retaliation, Wayne Hennessey (Bow) attacked & killed his Scout .. spiteful, eh?

2 Spears survived with promos and I've whipped a Longbow to greet him next turn. Got a great general out of the fight, but so did he; sending it to Chatham.

EDIT: I'm calling FOUL!! Just looked at the Combat log. How can he possibly win with just over 30% odds?!?!? I suspect someone's reloading the turn!!!!

Also, look at the log again; he attacked with each of his Knights in succession then sent in the Skirms, there's nothing there that suggests gaming the RNG. Sometimes bad results happen, and while the initial combats may have been at 30%, the later should have improved as the Fortification bonus dropped. Likely he also sent lower-promo Knights in first since chances were he was going to lose even the high-promo.

Not saying it isn't disappointing / frustrating to see a log like this, but you'll need more evidence to convince anyone else this wasn't just standard deviation.

Note that the game will have been set up to preserve Seed on Reload, so he can't keep reloading between combats until he gets a good result, and there are limited ways of incrementing the seed otherwise making it more unlikely that he's doing it. There's not even any difference in promos, they both read as C1-Shock Knights as you'd expect from a standard attack.

Bad/Good rolls happen sometimes, I don't think that one set of combat results can be used as evidence one way or another; particularly as concerns someone with no previous question marks against them (as far as I know).

Turn 104 - 880AD

OK, Canterbury's finally fallen. Adrien has 7 Knights, 2 Skirmishers & a Great General Spear he's moved up. The Longbow I built at end of last turn faced 3 foes; killed a Knight & a Skirmisher (his jammy luck didn't hold with odds of 3% ) before falling to a 2nd Knight!

Selsey was attacked this turn too; surprised he didn't take it as i had a full-health horse Archer left with 3 hero Spears who all gained promotions. As I can't whip a Longbow there, a Spear will have to do, but I think I can say goodbye to the Silver shortly.
