WW #43 - The Asha'man

Not entirely uncharitable, I was and am fairly happy to let a Psilly lynch play itself out. Lately though Psilly is sending out WW42 vibes whereas Adrien is doing his best to talk himself into trouble.

I think I know why I never read Adrien as scummy - he never lets himself get rattled and he never seems to feel guilty. I'm not following his town play here though.

Plus even if Hider is a very weak role, you don't have to use it. Certainly not worse than vanilla, which is how he describes Mafia Lover.

Unbelievable or not, why would he put Mafia lover second as scum? If there's no particular reason to, and no reason to lie about a hider discard, then the whole thing is a null tell.

Psilly, I think you're completely misreading Lewwyn.

What's your read on him, novice? I know that I've sidetracked his attention to protecting himself against my attacks, although really, it's not like he has had more than 1 or 2 votes on him this entire time, so he should feel some leisure to attend to other considerations in the game and let my attacks speak for themselves if he thinks they are so self-evidently laughable rather than respond to them IN EARNEST. Anyways, what do you think Lewwyn has contributed, novice?

Novice: what, specifically, do you notice about my play lately that is sending out WW42 vibes? Last game, even though I know you ended up being town, it was confusing to get a read on you when you just kinda vaguely backed off the Winston lynch towards the end without really going to bat for him besides saying that he was "obviously town" (not obvious to the rest of us). So, in case you are town, it would benefit you to explain yourself a bit more here, and if you are scum, I don't want you to just get cheap points for seeming to have backed off from me at the last second without having to explain yourself.

I suppose so. It struck me as odd, but I could be reading too much into it.

Psillicyber's recent series of posts have been real scummy to me, but I haven't read WW42 in detail. I can see the reasoning for voting Adrien, but still I think Psilly is the stronger case.

Psillycyber, why are you interested in lynching Adrien? Out of the three you listed who is the most scummy?

I'll be back around deadline to reasses things if need be.

My early case on AdrienIer was for voicing contradictory preferences with regards to risky roles, and for falling back on prodding quasi-lurkers like Prometheus like last game when he didn't have anything else to contribute.

Rowain has added some great points in this post: hiding behind other people's opinions, being conspicuously vague and non-committal.

And Lewwyn even made a good point here. Although Lewwyn's point applies equally to the situation between me and him. I am less likely to put stock in what Lewwyn says when he has been acting scummy otherwise. But Lewwyn's point objectively stands, no matter who said it: AdrienIer doesn't trust Dp101, but puts stock in Dp101's distrust of Lewwyn. Huh?

I would rank them, from scummiest to least scummy, as:
1. Lewwyn
2. Meiz
3. AdrienIer

AdrienIer's tells are not quite as blatant and harder to pin down. Most importantly, Lewwyn and Meiz have committed to some truly questionable votes, which is the biggest thing.

I wouldn't say that Lewwyn has displayed "malice," but defensiveness, yes.
Oh, I've experienced scum-Lewwyn's attacks on day 1 couple of times (hence reference to "malice") and IMO this is not it. Perfectly innocent is a bit strong phrase though lol

(July 7th, 2016, 10:22)Psillycyber Wrote: Meiz's considerations for voting Jkaen are thin gruel. He won as scum once before, so he would like to try it again? How long ago was that? Who here hasn't won as scum? Why would this factor single-out Jkaen. Jkaen has been seeming towny to me so far, so the fact that the closest Meiz comes to taking a stand is against someone I feel pretty strongly is town...well, that's not good for Meiz.
I haven't found his observations towny at all, but very neutral. His theory of scum discards was based on assumption that most people would pick scum by default if given opportunity, so I'm assuming that's his personal view of it. That increases the chance that he picked scum if he got the opportunity.

Bing bing bing bing! My scumdar is beeping red here. So...Fenn is guilty of the paltry offense of a lack of town vibes, and therefore you are voting for him? What? That's your standard? Are there not any number of others who would fulfill that low standard? Hey, at the very least, why not vote for me? Surely there's been more of a case made against me than Fenn by now. The only reason to stick with the Fenn vote would be to not attract attention at this point when my alignment flips at lynch, if I get lynched.
That was not the reason for voting him, just hadn't found strong enough reasons to move the vote (until now).
