I don't think letting you use your air force both before and after your opponent's movement would work. That changes your situation from a disadvantage to an advantage, since you could possibly hit the same stack from different airports as it moves. If you're only allowed to use your airforce once per turn...I'm sure you can come up with a downside to that approach, too. Or if you can't, your opponents could .
Can you console yourself with the advantages to being second?
Second player does get to manage city production after the opponent moves, with the ability to react to the tactical situation with drafts/whips/etc, as well as fix any city micro that was messed up by their opponent. That was presumably especially useful on the first turn of your war when you could invade and knock out a lot of Pindicator's stuff before he could react.

I'm just gonna have to bunker up pretty much. All cities full of intercept units. I don't really want to use the Air Force first and second, I'm just trying to think of outside the box ideas.
I actually really wanted the first half of the timer, but Pind and BGN both managed to get in before me that turn. For the like 5-10 turns prior to the war start both had been consistently playing after me, and then I didn't want to engineer a three way split so I waited for Scooter to finish. There wasn't really much that Pind could have reacted to on the first turn out of draft/Slav, just maybe some saved prod on oil units.
I really don't feel that the pace will be that off on a sequential game. It is scooter and I taking the most time and being able to look in and see between others turns we could put them out quite quickly IMO. BGN/xenu might take a little longer is the only drawback, but I don't think pace would be a huge issue.
Sadly I can't reduce the roster down in the current setup. Any moves by me can be countered by Scooter defending Pind. Plus I don't want to kill DZ. He is giving me OB and not Drey4E which could be handy in a few turns. Like I could sit a navy in his waters and he either have to live with it or declare on DZ too.
Just thought I would ask is all, it would help speed up my turn playing I would say definitely.

You don't have anything to lose by suggesting your fudge solution and pointing out the naval stack issue. I'm pretty sure your not going to win because by the time it could happen to them your down to 4-5 players and could go sequential but you can try. Next time take the day off work, DoW without units in place or cause a three-way split to bully others to get what you want. You had many chances to stop this from happening.

I don't mean to suggest that the overall goal is impossible, just that the specific proposals floated (both yours and the lurkers') are all tradeoffs, nothing so far is a straight-up improvement.

I don't think so either...but my vote is not the one that counts.

I think you're telling me, a global lurker, that winning is more important than my bloody entertainment? Does not compute.

Didn't mean to object, just point out that it's not that lurkers haven't considered the problem, it's that we haven't found the answer either.

I know it's hard to keep posting in a single-player-team thread. I'm not even going to try to ask you a non-spoilered question, so I'll just say it's always interesting to see demos.

I'm really struggling for time currently, but I think I can put the game to conclusion in the next couple of turns (I hope!)
Managed to sneak a cheeky raze on Scooter last turn, I'm sure he will have reported it. I don't know whether he didn't spot it (I stacked the city full of extra units to try and hide it) or didn't think about a strike like that being possible.
Got a GE for a 3 person GA next turn.
Pind took the bait of the rather useless city now I can't kill him.
This releases my army to the north rather than having to cover 2 fronts it can move to threaten scooter.
I can now launch a nice naval assault on his island. If I can raze this he will loose his mobility advantage.
If not, still running a better GNP/MFG than all despite reeling in WW.
During the GA I can wonder up from radio due in next turn and be able to shoot out the CR and a few other interesting builds.

I don't think anyone is exclusively following me, but the civ is up for grabs. I don't wanna piss anyone off, and I seem to have at least done that to 2 of the players. I'm enjoying this game and think the civ is in a possible game winning position. The planned attack on Scooter can be aborted with no real consequence.

I think you should simply ignore those that whine. Play on whenever you have time and win this game.
you play when you have time and real live permits.
If some can't grasp the fact that managing a big civ while at war with 3 others at once does need time they should go and f** themselves. It would be a shame if you throw away a game on which you have spent so much time to reach the position you are in now.
