Yeah, Nyvelion taking forever to play turns is really hurting this game.
Your progress on your front is excellent, however- you're in a really good position. I'm getting a favorable K/D ratio vs. Xmo, but Fenn is under a lot of pressure. I'm going to try to steam B-Copters his way, you should focus on killing Nyvelion though. I think we can win a 3v2 fairly easily.

I'll do what I can to help you with Nyvelion, but I might pull back in the center to take some of the pressure off of myself - as long as you can knock out GS while Bob and I maintain a decent position then we'll be set to win this.

How bad are your positions? From what I can see Fenn's clearly losing (mostly since he's getting attacked by all three opponents, while we aren't doing the same to AB), while Bob and Xmo5 are at a standstill (though with notably fewer units than me and Nyvelion.
Speaking of Nyvelion, at what point do we say something? For that matter, is there a way for you to transfer ownership of an army in AWBW?

Mine is holding alright, Xmo has a lot of funding but he's diverting a large part of it to fight Fenn.

Idk.. It's kind of ridiculous, if this was an all-RB game I'd have asked her to either pick up the pace or find a replacement weeks ago. I get the impression these kinds of delays are fairly typical for AWBW though. Perhaps a broadcast or other press message is in order?

My position isn't the best, and I can't make any gains, so that's why I'm going to pull back whenever I get a turn, keep my reinforcement lines short.
Feel free to send a message wrt's Nyvelion's flakiness in this game, but I doubt it's going to amount to much. It's not like AWBW allows you to replace players during a game.

Ugh, sent a message last night:
Bob Wrote:Any chance we could pick up the pace some? I speak for my team when I say that, while
we don't expect people to play their turns immediately upon receiving them, the current
turnover rate is frustratingly slow and makes it difficult to remain invested in the match.
Just got this response in:
Xmo Wrote:Sorry if the pace is a little slow; most games on the site tend to
move about this pace, especially multiplayer games since you have to
wait for that many more people between turns. There are definitely
faster paced games, but those are the exception and not the rule.
Unfortunately, many of us have busy lives and/or our availability
doesn't necessarily coordinate well with our turns and things end up
running longer. For example, I will be traveling for work 4.5 weeks
out of the next 6, including one weekend and two full weeks in Europe
(I live in the US). While I will be trying to take my turns on a
regular basis (I usually prioritize multiplayer games and new map
review/comments), I can't promise that I'll always be on top of
things. Knowing that I probably devote more time to AWBW than most, I
can easily see how others' schedules quickly fill up, leaving little
or no time for AWBW, even for days at a time.
I'm honestly not trying to be rude, but that's just how things work
here, and that's why boot intervals are typically set for 7-10 days.
Even if you try your best to have quick games with the same group of
players, you're guaranteed to have some that aren't so quick from time
to time. I speak for my team when I say we try our best, but that's
just the nature of the metaphorical AWBW beast and it's just one of
the quirks that takes some getting used to.
Typical. Obviously we all have lives and can't commit every waking moment to playing online videogames with strangers. The issue here, which he's ignoring, is that one player out of six has consistently failed to play what are essentially five-minute turns within anything resembling a reasonable timeframe. Which happens constantly on AWBW, whose "boot intervals" haven't functioned properly for months, leading to games constantly dying because one jerk signs up and then fails to play more than a turn every two weeks. Also: maybe don't join so many games if you don't have time to play them? So many players on AWBW are in 30+ concurrent matches. Nyvelion is in a dozen (although some of those look like "joke" games).
Whatever, I'm not actually going to reply with any of the above, just wanted to rant here. Also Nyvelion did finally play, so perhaps my missive actually had some impact anyway.

That sounds like a chicken/egg problem. If it takes a week to get your next turn, then a dozen matches is the way to make it likely you have something to play every night. But, of course, it also means you're more likely to hit a traffic jam where you have too many turns to play in one night and just can't...which slows the average pace.

The problem is that other communities don't value PYFT above everything else. Granted, the turns aren't five-minutes anymore (I spent about an hour on and off on my most recent one), but of course the problem is the fact that one person is holding the turn much longer than others--if the gap was split up with ~2 days on each of the AWBW teammates I doubt it would be that big of a deal.

That really surprises me- mine really do take less than 10 min to play. Ofc I've got fewer units on the board and more static positions, but I find this game vastly quicker to play than Civ.
