I have a history of good reporting and, um, less than good play. Perfect for a dedlurker!

How do you guys feel about raging barbs? I'm inclined not to place lairs on the map, mainly because Joey's map design is really good and I don't want to mess it up. Raging barbs would balance things for the barb related/focused civs.
Could also go with normal barbs, I think it'll work out too.

Loading the mod, I got an XML error about "airships", or something along those lines, although the game did load completely. World Builder hardly works at all though. The Player Mode option does nothing- all of the submenus (such as adding or removing techs) are completely blank. Some of the map editing options are present, but the terrain menu is empty. There's also a blank "advanced start" menu I can't get rid of, and I experienced a CTD after tabbing in & out of the program a few times to write this post.

I haven't actually ever opened the v12.1 files Ref sent me, so I'll rejig them through my normal testing process and try to identify the problems/catch any other issues. This will (probably) take a big chunk of time dedicated, so might be a while coming. Apologies.
Joey, nothing implemented in v12.1 should alter map files, so v12 should be fine. Truthfully, v9 should also, but not 100% on that.
As mentioned earlier, this is a really busy time for me (first show yesterday, another for the next two nights and then I need to actually catch up on work).
Relatedly, I'd like to wait at least a week before choosing civs. I haven't even opened the game for a few months, and it's been at least six since my last multiplayer game.
Trying to finangle an appropriate playwindow is difficult for me. My current schedule leaves the middle of my days very free, but I doubt that'll continue post-November. I'm going to go with 6-10pm local, that is, 0600-1000 GMT. I don't recall how daylight saving works out here, so might need to check that.
I'd rather not Raging Barbs.

Depends a lot on difficulty level. I feel like Prince Raging Barbs are about equal to Immortal Normal Barbs. Also depends on how many empty spaces there are for barbs to spawn, whether Wildlands is turned on, how many BAR civs there are in the game, etc.
I don't mind Raging barbs, although they can be a serious problem at the top difficulty levels.

Exactly the same.

The "top-most" choice (only) from each player's Ranking List is considered simultaneously:
As many players as possible are given their "top-most" choice.
If the same choice is listed as the "top-most" choice for more than one player, then this power is randomly assigned to one of these players. (via random.org)
All assigned choices are now crossed off from the players' Ranking Lists.
This process is repeated until all players have been assigned a power.

Can't wait to see it! I could do Raging barbs at emperor or lower, not so much at higher levels. I'm ok either way.

Also, play time: 9pm - midnight, EST. Can't promise that I'll always hit the beginning of that slot. Can also play occasional shorter turns in the morning 6am - 7:30am.

I can't remember if anyone mentioned this or not, but I assume we'll be playing with quick speed, correct?

Ok, Ichabod's given me some great feedback and I've folded in his suggestions, so the map is pretty much ready to go. I sent it back for one more whirl (especially to check the mana nodes, which I somehow forgot to add completely ) and then I can post your starting screenshots. If you wanna wait a bit to do your picks, that's fine with me, but y'all should still post your threads soonish, if you can.
Regarding lairs, the map currently has none. I can't add them with my tool but it'd be pretty easy to via the worldbuilder. FWIW, Ichabod also recommended against them as he felt they were unbalancing. But, the game isn't starting until picks are done so there's still some time to discuss it.
