Hmm, I've never read Don Quixote before, but I know it's about a Knight, who I guess is obsessed with attacking windmills.


Nut works well for a second word, I think, since Quixote was kind of a little mad?


We should probably avoid Aztec going forward, since IIRC the book is set entirely in Spain, and there would be much better ways of cluing it with Knight.


Also, Scubadiver is a total bullshit word option, what meanings does it have besides referring to someone who dives with a scuba tank?

I concur with your top two Bob, in that order. Clever clue.

I'm a tiny bit worried that there's some iconic scene in the book, aside from the windmills, referencing a bell or brush or something, but if so the reference is lost of me.

Mexico is my third pick, via the Spain connection. The clue could be trying to like knight and Mexico while also avoiding Aztec which could be tough. But I definitely favor Bob's picks.

Hmmm.
There are a lot of things there that might be or require or describe equipment.

My favourite three are currently Microscope, Scuba diver and Brush (artist's equipment).

Jet (military equipment) and Field (as in field equipment) also seem quite likely, and I could see a weaker case for any of Pupil, Sock, Button, Bell and Straw.
