There are a lot of things there that might be or require or describe equipment.

My favourite three are currently Microscope, Scuba diver and Brush (artist's equipment).

Jet (military equipment) and Field (as in field equipment) also seem quite likely, and I could see a weaker case for any of Pupil, Sock, Button, Bell and Straw.

Didn't think brush on my first run through. I'd put it below my top 3 because it is not common phrase or association. Field equipment is a pretty common phrase.

FIELD as in sports-related equipment? Come to think of it, that does ring a bell.

As in military equipment used when on exercise, I believe. Tents and entrenching tools and stuff like that.

I'm happy with microscope and scuba, so let's just point to those since we seem to have a consensus.

Anyone have any strong thoughts that separate field and brush? Brush to me seems like a really clear kind of equipment because it is a tool, while field seems like a more tenuous connection. Happy to be overruled on this one, its possible that what is more intuitive to me is not as intuitive to others.

I think Field is the stronger connection. After all, if Brush, why not Sock?
On the other hand, Field is also far the riskier option. I'm sure our spymaster will have considered Brush, but Field feels like the sort of word that might have slipped past.

Gah, I'm not sure which option is better. I'm happy for us to go for either.

Well I am firmly for field equipment because it is a common phrase and common collocation. Brush, I can see why you might consider it to be equipment but have you ever once heard a painter refer to his brush as his equipment? Like, "hold on a sec I need to get my equipment." I understand the logical leap but I don't think it's a much more uncommon reference in daily usage than field equipment.

Going to bed, weigh in and someone pull the trigger. El Grillo?
