Adventuring is usually done in a dungeon, cave, or MINE
A TORCH is handy for dark places
A HORSE can help you carry more treasure out
You need a KEY to enter some of the rooms
You might have to fight a SHARK in a watery area
A BELT of giant strength is a very good piece of loot
You might need a rope or LINE
A SCORPION is a possible monster
... as is a WORM
A trap or cursed boot might cause you to SLIP
You might find a DECK of Tarot cards

Missed the rules mix-up. I would have been fine with no penalty, since the rule wasn't clearly posted, but T-hawk's compromise solution works well. On to our clue:

HORSE, TORCH, KEY, and BELT come immediately to mind, as something an Indiana Jones-style adventurer would carry and rely on. I see weaker links to FIELD, LINE, and DECK/ENGINE. I'm not sure if we're supposed to read anything from the fact that the clue is Adventuring, not Adventurer? Well, let's wait until we hear from everyone before trying to come up with a guessing order.

Without too much thinking...just what jumps out at me...

T-hawk chose to grey out boot. He considered that to be an 'adventuring' word, I guess.

MINE is pretty clear to me.
KEY. If we are thinking adventure games or rpg, keys often key items there. Hah.
BELT. Boot was considered too close for comfort. And belt is also used in rock climing. Or something. Spelunking.
TORCH. Never leave the inn without a torch in your backpack.

Weaker:
You might meet a Scorpion, Worm, Robot or a Shark out adventuring. Scorpion is 1st preference of these, but hard to really pick one clear winner of this supset of words.

I somehow remember a tv-cartoon-show called adventure TIME...come to think of it. On netflix.

I missed MINE, which both you and DaveV caught. That's a good choice. I think my preference now is:
KEY/TORCH/BELT/MINE > HORSE > any other word

To be clear, I suggested DECK/ENGINE thinking of more modern adventure settings with ships/motors. But those are weaker connections, as are SCORPION and the rest. I think if you want to clue SCORPION you go with a desert theme. In fact, if I'm reading the rules right, T-hawk could have clued Pyramid outright, now that the word has been guessed.
