I cleaned up my gmail contacts so this shouldn't happen again.

I've taken to just hitting "reply all" on my received saves, then deleting [in this case] Dreylin from the email. Because yeah, my mind pretty much stops after seeing 3 Roman numerals in a row.

And we all start the game by double-clicking on the save file, don't we?

... which is probably why we didn't spot that the game was started in v12, not v12.1 frown

(I just noticed tonight as I loaded up the old turn to check something, went back to Main Menu and then tried to open up the sim file that Joey had sent earlier.)

So how important are the v.1 changes? I guess we're only on t3 so it should be a big deal to restart.

Wait really? Dammit.

Edit: Yeah, restart.

What? No, it was definitely started with v12.1. I don't have v12 anymore.

edit: to be clear, I don't have a separate v12.1 installation. I took the assets folder from Q's v12.1 patch and overwrote the files in my v12 directory.

edit 2: yeah, my civilopedia shows v12.1 changes. https://i.imgsafe.org/3b938c0ff2.jpg

Would the save files even load if it wasn't with 12.1?

If you open the save from gmail directly, exit to the main menu, click "advanced" and "load a mod" you find it's v12. In the civilopedia it doesn't show v12 changes (like change to GMs etc.). But then there's this question which changes were even relevant for our game as we have no Calabim?

Changes for v1:
FT goes to +25% trade route, from +50%
Remove the +1% food from FT (Bug)

Vampires goes to 5/5 str, from 6/5
Governors Manors now at Mathematics
River of Blood now requires Feudalism, gives +3/-3 pop
Warrens goes to -1gpt Clarification that this is instead of being +10% maintenance

Only the bolded change matters between v12 and v12.1. But yeah, if we're going to restart better to do it now.

It looks like v12.1 to me (I also overwrote my v12 files btw).

Checking the pedia and testing in the worldbuilder the only change I'm missing is

Vampires goes to 5/5 str, from 6/5.

I don't know what the FT bug was though so maybe that's still there. Certainly FT was +25% trade route yield though.

I had the 12.1 changes installed as v12.1, and had to change the name to v12 (also changing the old v12 to v12.0) to get the turn 1 save to load. I think as long as everyone has the updates installed in a folder called "Erebus in the Balance v12", there's no need to restart.
