To be clear, the Pokemon connection did not occur to me; but when pja mentioned it, I remembered that, yeah, not only are they both Pokemon titles, but they were released at the same time. I like DIAMOND simply because they're both precious stones, and it's a word we must be expected to guess. The others are all associations you might miss. (Though I've always thought bed isn't a collective noun as in "bed of clams", but just refers to where they're found.) Still, I can get on board with DIAMOND/JAM.

So, since we all mentioned it:

So I say JAM because it's one step away whereas BED is two: Pearl -> oyster -> BED. Similarly, PORT requires the step through harbor.

Hmm, I'm not sure if I remember this properly, but I believe the formula for displacement is the NET FORCE on a MASS? Hopefully one of you guys can back me up or disprove that. Alternatively, there are a lot of displaced refugees moving through EUROPE right now.

Erm... Not sure on the definition. If memory serves it has something to do with Physics.

In that case I would go with:

FORCE is obvious
MASS also seems likely
GENIUS because Physics = smart

In that order. Not sure what else would really fit without stretching things.

Although after reading El Grillo's spoiler I am willing to get behind NET.

Lots of possibilities for this one. In my order of preference:

MASS (as in Mass displacement)
FORCE (used to displace someone)
AUSTRALIA (A continent populated with displaced persons)
CZECH, EUROPE (a lot of displacements during history, especially during and after WW2)
CAR, PORT as means of transportation of the displaced ones. But that's too much around the corner for my liking.

Point to Mass

I normally think of displacement in terms of naval terminology (used to measure the weight but not volume of ships). Then there is the historical meaning, a la migrations and forced movemente of people.

I didn't immediately make a strong physical connection, not saying there isn't one there but there are clearly more obvious pure physics words if that's the only thing the soymaster is trying to clue.
