In fact, the workers finish that farm on this very turn in the micro plan... which scooter has already played according to CivStats, so I expect he'll be posting about it later tonight. Good Civ4 instincts.
I spent some more time in the micro plan tonight and extended it a few turns further. I'm very happy with what's in there now; we will absolutely be able to hit 8 cities (and 14 workers!) by T218 so long as we're able to follow the sandbox in the actual game. In order to pull this off, our cities are frantically building workers, sacrificial altars, and longbows (the cheapest unit that has actual defensive usefulness) at the best possible rate. Aside from the market in the capital for Great Merchant generation and a monastery in Pocketbeetle for religious spread, we lack any other infrastructure. Zero libraries, zero barracks, etc. But do we really need anything else? We can fill those things in later. Our economy is actually pretty solid with Organized plus Sacrificial Altars in every city. Virtually every tile we're working is riverside and has the free 1 commerce, and that helps too.
Let me know what you think if anyone has time to play through it. I can supply sandbox save files on request.
EDIT: Ninja'd by scooter! Well we did finish that farm after all.
I'll have to request the sandbox then, sinse the Micro plan is set to private
Also, I say let the Explorer go Explore Byzantium. to be honest, the Explorer has already lost most of it's value. all the map you really need to see have been revealed, and what little is left you have another one for. They are not good for much now but fogbusting (with barbs turned off) and Sentry duty on a hill looking for incoming invasion.
Though the latter is not an inconsiderable motivation in Multiplayer, so it may be worthwhile to consider that instead.
Edit: Just as well you guys decided against eairly cottages, We'd have had no time to build any anyway

For anyone trying to access the micro spreadsheet, try this link. It says that it's been published publically, so hopefully it will be accessible to everyone.
About our explorers: yes, definitely bring the one in plako's territory around in the clockwise circle through the landbridge. We have some unexplored territory down there where cities will be going relatively soon. The one in RMOG territory, let's scout out a bit more of the immediate fog, then return to station on the hill tile next to the sugar. That should give us warning of anything coming from that direction. We're going to be running very light on military, which is why having a sentry down there will help.
Glad to see we met everyone. That will let us track a lot of information via our espionage advantage, plus get any known civ tech bonuses. Alhazard is definitely toast at this point, with the worst trait pairing in this collection of leaders and a rough start. I think plako and RMOG are in a lot of trouble too. I really wish we had mackoti's starting position on the map. Ah well.
Will post the sandbox save file tomorrow.

That link works!
I don't think we have to worry about our lack of infastructure. our entire reason for playing Aztec was to set up insane whipping farms. Once we have our land filled out and enough worker labor/military to go around, we can set up 2-pop whipping cycles every 2-3 turns to just crank out infastructure in any city it's worthwhile to do so. which with the potential to 2-3 pop whip every 3-4 turns, is going to be almost everywhere but dedicated military pumps. It probablly won't be worthwhile to have any cities more than 6 pop in size other than the capitol for quite some time. too many useful Hammers to turn them into
Edit: Any chance of just offering Byzantium a White Truce ceasefire offer? it's clear the war for now is just a sham, he's busy growing and expanding too, it was just to scare off your eairly explorer. if he /refuses/ a white peace on the other hand, it might be a sign he's considering the possibility of targeting you first when he does gear up.

Houston, we have a problem. Not massive but annoying.
Apparently there's jungle on that deer. Sigh. I honestly had no idea, but the resource indicator should have given it away to me. I'm going to hold off on playing this until tomorrow night since this will require some plan tweaking.

Well, Deer still needs to be worked, it will just have to shuffle the micro plan to deal with it taking longer

There was one very weird thing.
Nicolae got an Engineer, but that's not the weird part.
That earlier Engineer was Plako's because we're looking at it right there. There have been no other great people generated. Which means...
Alhazard, who I remind you is playing Gandhi, still has not generated a great person. AFTER TWENTY TURNS AS GANDHI.
Honestly I don't even know at this point. A non-PHI civ that didn't have Pacifism right away managed to get a great person before him. That's literally impossible unless one of two things happened:
1) The event log is broken
2) Alhazard has been working citizens
Is there a door #3 I'm missing here? Because I'm honestly not sure what's more likely at this stage. It has to be citizens in an effort to maintain a pure GPP pool or something, yeah? Some Liberalism bulb play? Maybe I should stop trying to make sense of this and just bask in the glow of Mercantilism citizens in cities with forges.

Are you sure Alhazard has been running Mercantilism all 20 of those turns though?

Are you suggesting a Spiritual civ would choose to run Decentralization over Mercantilism?
