i am hoping that since you can include various overlays already in the UI, it shouldnt be too much to add additional overlays, i.e. the 'iron' overlays that just colours all iron in bright pink. same for all the other resources

I disagree - all players like to explore and reveal new land. Currenlty 'unexplored' and 'no current vision' look waaay too similar. Ive accidently 're-explored' tiles a few times already.

As to OP - not adding _some_ kind of indication of +1 food to farm/+1 prod on mines on techscreen is a crime. They cant claim they didnt realize because civ 4.

FWIW, I liked the idea of the world in fog looking like a map when I first saw it.  It's a nice theme.  It's just perhaps that they focused too much on the aesthetics of the idea and not enough on usability.

I just noticed another flub watching the youtube of Sullla's stream, to me it looks like the icon for an industrial district is almost identical to the "this city needs a new build" order icon. Surely they'd make some effort to differentiate the icon for a building you want to cram into as many cities as possible from the icon every city will show at least twenty times per game?

It's this kind of inattention to detail (something so easy to fix and obvious to spot) that has me thinking there are going to be major issues hidden under the hood.
