Won the coinflip on the Lion, so the NE is now clear:

Warrior moved adjacent to Salinero, so I'll hunker with my pair and wait for it to attack. Another one approaching from the South, which will get that Warrior to 10xp; meanwhile the Eastern Warrior is free to move and retreats back across the river to let the Goblin attack (only 73% if I'd attacked out, so not worthwhile with no follow-up.

Jalepeno has planted his 3rd city now, while Ellimist is still on just two - but one is at size9, which helps explain the score lead.

Cleaned up the SW Barb; Warrior reaches 12xp. I've pretty-much got the SW & East held down now (Goblin declined to attack), so tension is in the NW:

Barb Warrior paused on the hill which probably means he'll attack next turn. The interesting thing is the Griffon; it's probably a bit early for someone to have captured it, but having seen Ellimist's Scout going in that direction it won't hurt to be cautious.

Barb finally killed himself on the city:

That event mystified me for a while, but then I noticed that jalepeno's third city is called "3", so I think that means he got a tech advance.

Goblin died on my Warrior; no more Barbs currently in sight:

Workers getting in place for the new city (Gigolo), and for chopping/Mining.

Looks good. Your decision to pick Rhoanna proved to be the correct one.

A question - how can you be sure that hammers from chopping 1n of Rice would go to Bonfire? It is the same distance from Valegro.

I'm happy with Rhoanna, though my Demos are not superb - I think it will be a while before we see whether the "cottages first" decision will pay off or backfire.

If it was outside the Working radius, then it would be down to the obscure priority mechanics; however since it's within the working radius, the chop will go to whichever city has that tile active in its city screen. (true for base Civ IV as well)

I played t53 last night but there wasn't much to report on, however this morning I realised that with Mining completing at EoT, I should have a view of Copper. So if the turn doesn't make it back round today (which seems unlikely at this point), I'll load it up again and check that out.

AH as next tech, I think; for the Cows at Gigolo and opening up the (many) Pigs for the next round of cities. Will also reveal Horses, which of course I don't need, but are usually a good tile to work.

Damn, Salinero's gonna be pullin' in some helluva lotta hammers.

Well that was always the idea for the city, I guess I lucked into the Copper jackpot! smile
