That's a lot of **immediate** priorities smile

Agree that's a bit too many immediate priorities. Not sure I agree on the banks or the Libraries in the immediate future, but I'll access the situation myself when I take over.

Leaning on trying to trigger 2 man GA ASAP, as drafting rifles is OP and we need a civic switch for that. I'm thinking we tech Constitution next for Rep, then Communism while trying to time the end of the GA with SP. Going to have to look at eta's before we commit to that though, but I do think Nationalism next at least.

If non-engineer specialists slots are all we want from building a market in KND, surely a theater would do the same thing for less hammers?

REM doesn't have Astro yet so no danger from Frigates. Kind of a curious decision to skip Astro though... I can only assume he bulbed Chem with a GS for that path to Sci Method. Speaking of tech I wonder what scooter is doing, he is the only one without Gunpowder or RP. If he doesn't hurry he'll be the last to rifling and that isn't a great position to be in.

DO ALL THE THINGS.

Market would still be nice in KND since it's one of our big commerce cities.

We could always invade Scooter XD

Time to take over. Just in time for REM to attack. jive

He hasn't declared yet but I will be shocked if he doesn't within ~5t. He's building a road to our border, what other alarm bells do we need? He has Rifling, Military Tradition and a higher power than mackoti now (missing only Astronomy from his arsenal). We meanwhile have the lowest power in the game and are in the middle of an infrastructure push. Can you say paranoid? I'm building some spies so I can know for sure what his intentions are (should we DOW and offer peace ourselves? that's what scooter is doing at any rate), but once we get Rifling in 3t we'll be going crazy on Rifles for sure (I'm even tempted to tech Nationalism and switch to Nationhood outside of a GA!).

If we can keep the peace then it looks a bit more rosy. We can start Oxford and Globe next turn and we should get our final 2 cities down shortly. It's just a shame everyone else's sandbox is better than ours.

Declare on him and offer peace. Find out his intent. If he wants war, I think we should do the following:

1. Finish Oxford, the Globe, NE, and a market? in KND as planned.
2. Research nationalism next and be prepared to eat a turn of anarchy to switch into theocracy and nationalism if it means not dying.
3. Delay current infrastructure builds other than those already mentioned, cue up catapults, knights, and muskets everywhere (muskets upgrade to rifles in queue right?)

Shove as much of our medieval trash as we can into JAO, since that looks like where the hammer is going to fall. Get them in there so they can start fortifying. Start running artists there and get us to 40% culture ASAP. Put a few knights/muskets on boats on our EIs to counterattack REM's eastern coast. Make sure Global Warming is not in danger.

Does Jungled fish have 40% borders? LBs with CG should actually fare okay against rifles there.

Mack has a few more turns enforced peace I think, and Scooter has 10? Hopefully Mack will tie down most of REMs army on his western border, the phract stack is a little too big to ignore. If there is some way we can indicate to Mack he might have an opportunity to nab land off REM in the coming turns, do it.

REM won't continue a war that's a grind. It will leave him too vulnerable to attack from the rear. Let's make sure we don't topple easily.

All done. I honestly don't know what REM is going to take peace or not. On one hand, he accepted peace with scooter and still has enforced peace with mackoti. That leaves plako and ourselves, except REM and plako are exchanging happy resources so that's not good. OTOH, the worker roading to our border has stopped so I dunno. He has Astronomy though so he can launch a naval strike with Frigates and Galleons now, although I find it hard to believe that is quicker than just sending mounted units to tear through our empire on land.

You severely overestimate the amount of medieval units we have available for a naval strike. I'll send what little we have to do so if it comes to that, but we don't have much. I'm saving most military whips until rifling in 2 (btw, no-one else has rifling yet somehow).

Not only did REM refuse peace, he signed a new peace treaty with mackoti. So yeah, guess we're on the firing line. He started to move some Rifles, Cavs and a Frigate towards us, but nothing is in danger of being lost yet.

With that, we now enter DEFCON 1. Here is our city list:

Every city building a musket will complete a rifle next turn. Strong chance of whipping all of them to completion once they auto-upgrade. Thankfully we have the 2nd turn slot, so all our whips will complete. The last city will not be settled unless we get peace, likewise we are scrapping the Oxford/Globe plans. Nationalism should take 4-5t after Rifling to complete, that should be a 1t civic swap into Nationhood/Theocracy and we will have much easier access to Rifles.

Dunno if we can get REM stuck in a grind war with the lead he has, but we're damn well going to try. If we fail, there's a good chance we'll be isolated on No Copper.

hammer hammer hammer hammer

Can we intercept his frigate with our navy in the west? We could scratch it with the galley and then finish it off with the EI perhaps? The presence of a frigate perhaps indicates he wants to push directly for Jungled Fish and into our core from there.

At any rate, agree, times for rifles everywhere. If this is still going in 5 turns, we eat a turn of anarchy to swap into nationalism/theocracy. What are our cultural defenses like at Jungled Fish and Jungle All Over?

Also, will the reload affect anything on our end?

We probably could've killed the frigate, but I left it alive since I wanted to try a naval strike and couldn't do both. I think he'll sniff it out regardless however.

JAO will reach 40% next turn, and he can't attack until then. JF will be stuck at 20%.

The reload does switch city micro, I forgot to assign specialists at KND after completing the theater and logged in to work them which is now undone. With a 16t eta though it won't matter either way, if we still have KND after 16t then we would be succeeding beyond our wildest dreams.

mackoti offers 15 gold for 15 gold for some reason. Dunno what he wants in 15t, but we'll probably be insignificant enough by then it won't matter. He's also delayed Rifling long enough to grab Communism first.

The hammer reveals itself:

Yeesh... We ain't going to be stopping that, even we had Nationhood now. We're going to lose 3 cities next turn, and probably all of our mainland cities within ~5t.

In other news, both scooter and mackoti have a dozen knights/phracts each in our borders. I guess we'll see our lovely cottages burn. frown mackoti even took the time to give each Phract a name about burning stuff, making dave's "Mackoti Delenda Est" grudge looks petty by comparison.

The naval strike was sniffed out. Unfortunate but not unexpected. At least we can keep him honest in naval warfare for a bit thanks to our UU.
