Why? If we had magnetic rifles then sure. But since we don't, a weapon that does 4-6 damage is surely better than 3-5 yes?
Everything else looks good.
4 being the lowest damage roll is very nice at this stage. Which one you use mostly depends on play style I think.. I was missing often with shotguns in my solo campaign, but another player might be better at positioning and can get close enough to not get range penalties.
Yeah, play style is probably the right answer; I generally find myself Swording instead of getting off a close shot, and then the Rifle fits better for longer range.
I'm really busy right now, so I won't take the save next. I also just realised that we have 6 players, so just because someone claimed someone of a certain class doesn't mean you can't claim another of the same class.
probably cant get it tonight, i will pick up tomorrow morning if nobody else does
On the various points:
I like colourful colour schemes
i actually like sword promotion on ranger and heals on support, but we can do that next time round
Seems there isn't much love for the shotgun, which is a shame. I've never noticed the accuracy penalties myself, and once you get up to a lieutenant the promos for the ranger/shotgun are all amazing after that. The sword/Blademaster is decent in the early game (especially against Sectoids) but the sword quickly gets outclassed by the shotgun once magnetic weapons are reached.
I'll play the mission after the next. That'll be the first retaliation mission, which is as good a time as any to jump in.
