Btw turns out that save corruption can happen in XCOM 2. We should be safe since we can just revert back to the previous save, but if you're playing any solo Ironman campaigns, make sure to back up the save every few missions. I just lost my best Legendary Ironman campaign to save corruption.

EDIT: Oh thank god it does work nvm. Wasn't save corruption. Just 2K wanted me to accept their new policies or some shit and the pop-up didn't appear until the 6th time I opened the game. Still this scared me enough that I'll be backing up my own saves at least.

Essentially the hack that Jowy put on for 2 turns seems to actually have been for 2 actions, and he gets 3 per round, so he came out of stun far faster than i expected and destroyed Johnny
