Realms Beyond Civilization 6 Adventure 2: The Moon and the Stars

Sponsor: Sullla
Opening Date: Saturday, November 19th
Duration: Four Weeks

Map Script: Continents
Map Edits: None
Game Speed: Normal
Difficulty: Emperor
Civilization & Leader: Saladin of Arabia
World Size: Small
Opponents: Six (one above the default)
Rules: Standard
Victory: Spaceship
Version: First Patch

Scenario: The goal in this game is to win a Spaceship victory at the fastest possible date. As Saladin, your civ will be guaranteed a Great Prophet to found a religion. Your challenge will be to balance faith and science together with the goal of launching the spaceship first. Is it better to focus on getting a religion quickly, to make use of Saladin's Madrasa unique building and Righteousness of the Faith unique ability? Or is it better to skip religion entirely to focus more directly on science? We don't know and it should be fun to find out.

Scoring: Fastest finish by Spaceship. Other victory types will not be counted in the scoring. Players may need to be careful about avoiding an unwanted Cultural victory if the game lasts long enough - watch out!

Closing Date: Monday, December 19th. We have traditionally made Mondays our closing day, and I think we should continue that tradition. Note that this is a scored event, which means NO SPOILERS about your game while playing. Do not post information about your game while it is in play, or afterwards until the finish date. The time to post reports will be on the closing day, where everyone will share the results of their individual games. If anyone is looking for more collaborative Civ6 events, feel free to start up another Succession Game or try to get some Civ6 MP rolling. The Epics/Adventures are Single Player events, and we take the no spoilers rule seriously.

I have a question, and sorry if this is the wrong place. If we don't post our report exactly on Monday, are we eliminated from scoring? I'm not sure if I can guarantee that I will be able to post the report exactly then.
Surprise! Turns out I'm a girl!

You have until the end of that Monday to post your result of what date you finished. The report can follow later in the week. There's no absolute deadline, but you'll just find yourself with less readers and interest the more you wait.

Also this needs to be said: NO MODS.  We know Civ 6's UI is in a less than perfect state at the moment, but we have always adhered to a policy of no mods except for carefully chosen and approved ones that provide no in-game advantage.  Collecting and presenting information to the player does constitute in-game advantage.  You are not playing the same game if your UI shows more information than other players', so we adhere to the principle of no mods.

I will be in if I can get my computer to run the game. (I realise this is a no-information message, but you seem so worried no-one will be interested... smile )

I will be up for this - I cannot work it out from the picture, why is the tile the settler is on 3 food? It doesn't look like a FP. Nice cheeky spot for the mids early which seems like the most powerful wonder early doors too.

I have a couple of macros in my Adventure 2 city tracking spreadsheet that do some calculation for me (simple stuff - add on food each turn, sanity check calculations, register when a city goes up a size.) Just as a sanity check - is that kosher? Is the injunction against all external calculation, or only in game mods?

Sullla as the sponsor can make the final call, but I think that has to be allowable, trying to legislate against out-of-game analysis wouldn't seem workable at all.
