Lucas and Robern are about half a mile away from the group, they can see the others have halted.

Lucas noting the others have halted for a moment, but dont seem to be reacting to any danger continues to steadily head towards them and catch up

Anya, Elizabeth, and Niall make there way carefully toward the ridge in the mean time, keeping near the maze. The maze splits below them; on their side it seems to wind a bit more south. The one going more straight will require the party to cross the crevasse, or else descend to the lower ground. In the path going straight the labored, distressed sound of a horse can be heard.

I just reread and realized we might as well go down into the ravine to keep on for the ridge regardless. I guess we should wait for the others to return and then descend together?

Niall descends into the ravine using his rope and heads toward the braying of the horse.

[Commodore]

Niall comes upon a horse in distress; the animal has a vicious slash on its foot and seems to be rolling in pain and confusion.

Perception roll here. You already notice several ropes and ties around the animal, bindings of a couple saddlebags.

Niall stands well back from the thrashing animal, well aware he has little skill in soothing beasts.

Niall is ... not very good at picking out detail. Or anything.

Lady Elizabeth follows Niall down, and imitates his actions - definitely including the distance from the icky beast.
