Oh. I assumed Jar Jar was going to do at least a few Star Wars since he did the two Space Trek movies.
OTOH the fact that I can't blame Jar Jar for it still isn't an excuse for reusing the same damn plot device over and over again. tongue

Yes! That is possibly my favourite shot in the movie; totally Star Wars. I thought the alien was an Arcona, not an Ithorian, but I might have been wrong.

I was wrong. Having watched the movie again the other night, he does look more like an Ithorian to me.

It's finally here, the long-awaited video based on the movie you only watched to better enjoy the video.

It's more of a review of prequel apologists and the 'Cinematic Universe' movie making process then anything

Anyone else go see Rogue One? I really liked the film.

The main thing that struck me though was just how good the CGI Moff Tarkin was... So detailed. I really like how they retconned the hideous design flaws in the death star as being intentional, and that the rebellion is not all roses either. Could have done with a bit more Vader though.

I thought it was pretty good.

My main issues were with the start of the film - the overuse of out-of-focus shots was a bit distracting, and the huge vistas felt oddly cramped.

I thought the film really got into its stride after the imperial robot came onto the scene. What a character! Loved that dude. Really enjoyed the X-wing battle scene towards the end too, much more so than the X-wing scenes in Episode VII last year. Overall definitely good entertainment.

Making the design flaw intentional was a nice touch, though it still leaves open questions about the second (...and third...) Death Star.

Not sure the film needed more Vader, I felt they got that part about right. Overusing him would detract from the rest of the film.

Did anyone else feel a bit odd about CGI Leia?

I won't be seeing one of these in theater again. They had a chance to tell a completely new story...and they forgot to tell a story.

I have a strange new respect for the Prequels. Better to make something stupid and passionate than something bland and competent. Now, please note, it's a better movie than Eps1-3, easily...but it has no risk, no spark, no artistic merit whatsoever. So much stuff just spliced in to sell the toys and focus the groups. And like TFA, what the hell with all the hugging?

Also, CGI Uncanny Valley Leia will forever haunt my nightmares.

I liked that movie more then any other star wars movie. It utterly blew TWA out of the water. The characters were for the first time in ever actually interesting. the story was what it was, but the movie was actually interesting, which I never really got with any other star wars movie.
