Shoot. Somehow I thought this was next week (which doesn't even make any sense, cause that's Christmas. )
I'm about 30-40 turns out, but those turns are pretty long and I don't have the 5-6 hours I need to wrap things up this week. RIP the dream.
Thanks for the scenario, Sullla - I had a blast. For those interested in the new and interesting ways I found to screw up I'll still probably post a report around Yule-tide. Mea culpa.

I think I might actually have time for this with a heroic one sitting playthrough with no pitbosses to play currently... space is long, but if it can be done sub turn 300 should be doable.

Didn't get finished in time. I'll try and poke through it sometime soon and give a shadow report.
I've got some dirt on my shoulder, can you brush it off for me?

I'm really sorry for not finishing this after wasting so much of your time with stupid questions, I got to t60 and just was crushed by the amount of warring I would have to do, that + the fact that I had screwed up early research so my rush was impotent just drained my enthusiasm.
Surprise! Turns out I'm a girl!

That sucks Dp101, I hope you can play through the next one. If it helps, I really fought with wanting to just throw in the towel around t50 myself. Having to slug through that early war can be draining

Having to slug through that early war can be draining. Same thing happened to me, more or less. I got rushed by the Vikings, Tomyris and Germany early, losing a city to the Scythians but recapturing it soon thereafter. I actually managed to come back and completely conquer Germany, but quit around 150. I had enough land to win, but the early game was just really exhausting and it really sapped my will to play through another 200 turns to a space victory when accomplishing it with any sort of speed was already out of the question.
Congrats on your best finish Pin
Despite getting burned out on this one, I did enjoy the setup for this adventure. I just made enough mistakes early that it just wasn't really enjoyable for me (getting my religion squished and not being able to use my UA, etc). Looking forward to finishing Epic 1 when I get home in January

I understand about getting your religion squished. I had an epic religious come-back via Mahobadi temple, which was what really made the game for me.
Congratulations Pindicator !

This is rather interesting. A lot of people had religious failings - it isn't enough simply to steal a holy site and get your religion up. You need missionaries out straight away! In hindsight I would have played more aggressively snubbing out the Scythian missionaries. I assume you could have a religious comeback this way too with the killing missionaries modifier to nearby cities?

Actually I hoped to be able to get my religion back that way (killing missionaries) during my war on Germany, but Frederick had already converted everything there was to convert and didn't have any missionaries left to kill (And the main religion that snuffed mine was Catholicism he founded).
I think Sulla saved his religion that way by declaring war on Germany, which I didn't think of doing until it was to late.
I actually build a very late Mahobadi temple (I was lucky it was still available) in a catholic city, but I still got 2 Apostles from my religion out of it (I hoped it would be so, as you need to have founded a religion to be able to build the wonder). I used one apostle to launch the inquisition and the other one to convert some of my cities back, after which I recruited inquisitors for the clean up.
